You’ve uploaded your own video to YouTube, and now you want to switch its license to Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY). This license allows others to freely use, modify, and redistribute your video, as long as they give you proper credit. Here's how you can do that.
Steps
Identify and Change the License of Your YouTube Video

Open the left-hand menu on YouTube. In the YouTube interface, click on the (☰) icon in the upper left corner to open the left-side menu of YouTube.

Go to your YouTube channel. Click on My Channel in the left-side menu to open your channel, where you can view the videos you've uploaded.

Open the list of your uploaded videos. Click on Video Manager at the top of the screen, just under the Search field, to access the list of videos you've uploaded to your YouTube channel.

Select the video you want to check the license for. In the list where each video is displayed on its own row, you may notice that none of the videos show the Creative Commons license. Choose the video you want to check and/or change the license for, then click Edit to open the window where you can preview the video.

Open the window to modify the license settings. Click on Advanced settings to open a window that contains all the detailed information for the selected video, including the option to modify its license.

Advice
- With the CC BY license, users not only have the ability to reuse the video but can also modify it in any way, including commercial use, as long as they provide proper attribution to the original author. If the video is referenced elsewhere, a link to the CC BY license assigned to the video must be included.
