JUUL is a popular e-cigarette brand in the U.S. that uses a rechargeable battery, allowing for long-term use. When the battery is depleted, you need to charge the JUUL device with the included USB charger. If you don't have the charger that came with the device, it's easy to create your own charger using a few wires from a regular phone cable. After about an hour, your JUUL device will be fully charged.
Steps
Using the JUUL Charger

Plug the USB charger into a port. The charger that comes with the JUUL device has a USB plug, so you can use it in various locations. You can connect it to a USB wall adapter, a laptop's USB port, or a power bank. Make sure to place the charger on a flat surface during charging to prevent the JUUL device from falling off.
- You can use any device with a USB port to charge the JUUL vape pen.

Attach the JUUL device to the USB charger. Make sure the side with the 4 slots of the JUUL device faces down towards the charger. Insert the vape pen into the charger until it clicks into place magnetically. Charging will begin once the light on the front of the JUUL device starts blinking.
- Ensure you charge in an area with minimal movement as the JUUL device is prone to falling off the charger easily.
- If the light on the device does not blink after insertion, try charging with a different device and verify that the power source is properly connected.

Check the charging status by tapping the JUUL device twice. To see how much charge the JUUL device has left, tap the light on the front of the device twice. A red light means the battery is low, yellow indicates around 50% charge, and green signals that the battery is fully charged.
- If the device runs out of power, it will take about an hour to fully recharge.
DIY Charger Using a Phone Cable

Cut the small end of the USB charging cable. You can use any charging cable as long as it's not currently plugged into a power source. Use scissors to cut off the small end of the cable (the one that connects to your phone), then discard the end piece as we only need the wire inside.
- Do not attempt to cut the cable while it is plugged in to avoid electric shock.

Strip the red and black wires from the charging cable. Carefully peel apart the red and black wires inside the cable. Leave about 0.6-1.2 cm of exposed wire and use the sharp edge of the scissors to strip the plastic insulation off.
- You do not need to strip the green and white wires.
- Occasionally, the black wire may have a silver coating.

Insert the black and red wires into the left and right ports at the bottom of the JUUL device. Place the JUUL device flat on a surface with the light facing upwards. Insert the red and white wires into the outermost left and right slots of the device. Push the wires in firmly until they are secure.
- You may need to adjust the device's position, as long as the wires don't fall out.
- The black and red wires should remain separate to prevent short-circuiting when you plug in the power.

Connect the charging cable to a power source. Attach the other end of the phone charging cable to a power bank or wall charger and plug it in. DO NOT use a USB port on a laptop or other electronic devices, as this could cause a short circuit and damage the device. Ensure the power source is within reach so you can adjust the wires if necessary.
- Avoid leaving the DIY JUUL charger connected to the power source when not in use; exposed wires could potentially cause a fire.

Secure the wires with tape while charging the JUUL device. Adjust the wires until you see the light on the JUUL device blinking. Then, wrap electrical tape around the base of the device to hold the wires in place. The charging process will take about an hour.
- If the light on the device doesn't blink, try plugging the charging cable into a different USB device.
- Never leave the JUUL device charging unattended, as the exposed wires are not safe.
Tips
- To prolong the battery life, avoid letting the JUUL device run out of power for more than two weeks.
- Clean the charging ports monthly with a cotton swab.
Warning
- Always disconnect the cable from the power source before cutting the wire, as doing otherwise could result in an electric shock.
- Some online videos suggest that the JUUL vape pen can be charged by rubbing two knives together, but in reality, this is not possible.
- Never leave the JUUL device unattended when charging with exposed wires.
- Do not use the JUUL device if you are under the legal smoking age (18 years old in Vietnam).
