Do you suspect that someone has accessed your Wi-Fi? If you want to know which devices are currently connected to your network, you're in the right place. There are plenty of methods to get this information! This article will show you how to check who is connected to your Wi-Fi.
Steps
Using a Wireless Router

Open your browser. You can use a browser to log into the web interface of your wireless router. This is where you can manage settings, change configurations, and check who is connected to the wireless router.

Enter the IP address of the router into the address bar. This action will take you to the router's web interface. The router's IP address varies by manufacturer and model. Refer to the user manual or the manufacturer's website to find the specific IP address for your router.
- The router's IP address is commonly 192.168.1.1 or 10.0.0.1.
- You can find the router's IP address by using the Command Prompt on Windows. Open the Start menu and type CMD to see the Command Prompt option. Click on the program name to open it. Type ipconfig /all and press ↵ Enter. Look for the IP address next to "Default Gateway" (the default gateway address).

Enter the username and password. If you haven’t changed them yet, use the default credentials. These credentials vary by router manufacturer and model. Check the user manual or the manufacturer’s website for the default username and password for your router.
- The most common username and password are "admin" and "password".

Locate the list of devices. You can find the list of connected devices in the router's web interface. The information displayed may vary depending on the manufacturer and router model. You may see options such as "Connected devices" or "Attached devices" or something similar. This list shows the name and MAC address of each connected device.
- If you spot any unfamiliar devices, change your Wi-Fi password. Be sure to use WPA2-PSK encryption if available. This will prompt all connected devices to enter the new password to reconnect.
Use the Command Prompt

Open the Command Prompt. This program can be found on Windows 8 or newer systems by pressing the Windows key and typing "CMD".
- On a Mac, you can perform this task in the terminal. Click on the magnifying glass icon at the top-right corner and type terminal in the search bar, then click on the terminal application.

Type "arp -a" into the command window.

View the IP address. This IP address usually shares the same prefix as the router’s IP address (for example, 192.168) that is connected to the router. You will see the IP and MAC addresses of each connected device.
- Each device connected to the internet has a unique MAC address. You can usually find the MAC address in the Settings menu under Network or Internet Settings, or in the device information. You can easily locate the MAC address of a Windows computer, Mac, iPhone, or Samsung Galaxy.
