Today, Mytour will guide you on how to check your computer's hardware configuration, such as processing speed and memory capacity.
Steps
On Windows

Open Start. You can click on the Windows icon at the bottom-left corner of your screen or press the ⊞ Win key.
- On Windows 8, move your mouse to the top-right corner of the screen and click the magnifying glass icon.

Type system information (system information). The computer will begin searching for files that match the result.

Click on System Information. This application, represented by a computer icon, is located at the top of the search window. The System Information window will open.

Click on System Summary (System Overview). This option is located in the upper left corner of the System Information window. You'll see your computer's configuration appear on the right side of the window.

View your computer's specifications. For example, you can check the processor your computer is using by looking at the information next to the "Processor" heading.
- Another interesting detail here is the RAM (Random Access Memory) installed on the computer.
- The number next to the "System Type" heading indicates the system's bit count: x64 corresponds to 64-bit, while x86 is linked to a 32-bit operating system.

Open Start and type device manager. The Device Manager program will appear near the top of the Start window.

Click on Device Manager. The program icon looks like a video camera next to a printer. The Device Manager window will open, allowing you to check your computer’s graphics card.

Click on > next to the Display adapters section. The Display adapters option will be near the top of the Device Manager window.

Search for your graphics card. It will appear under the Display adapters section. Once you know the name and specifications of the graphics card, you will understand which programs can run on your computer.
- You might see two entries here. The one with the processor brand matching your computer's processor (e.g., Intel) is the integrated graphics card.
On Mac

Click on the Apple menu. This menu, represented by an apple icon, is located in the top-left corner of the screen.

Click on About This Mac (Information About This Computer). This option is located near the top of the dropdown menu. The About This Mac window will open, displaying all the details about your Mac's processor, RAM, and graphics unit.

Click on System Report (System Report). This option is located at the bottom of the About This Mac window. The System Report window will appear.

Click on ▼ next to the Hardware section. This option can be found in the left panel of the System Report window.

Select the hardware category you want to check. Below the Hardware section, you will see a list of all the hardware components of your Mac. When you click on a category, its configuration will appear in the panel to the right of the System Report window.
- For example: if you want to check the graphics card details, click on Graphics/Displays.
- You can click on Memory for an overview of your Mac’s RAM.
- To see your processor’s configuration, click on Hardware.
