Today, Mytour will show you how to check your computer's hardware and software configurations.
Steps
Mac

Click on the Apple menu. You'll see the Apple icon in the top-left corner of your MacBook screen.

Click the About This Mac option (About this Macbook) located near the top of the dropdown menu.

Review the system information of your computer. The "About This Mac" window contains several tabs that offer various types of information:
- Overview – Here, you can see details about the operating system, processor, and memory.
- Displays – Check information related to your screen and any connected display devices.
- Storage – View memory allocation, including the space taken up by files and the available free space.
- Support – Find a list of resources to help resolve potential issues (if any).
- Service – View your computer's service history (e.g., warranty information).
Windows 8 and 10



Type system information in the search bar at the bottom-left corner of the screen.

Press the ↵ Enter key. The System Information window will open. Four tabs are listed in the upper-left corner of the window:
- System Summary – This is the default tab that opens in System Information; it contains details about the computer's operating system, memory configuration, and processor type.
- Hardware Resources – View a list of hardware drivers and related device information (such as webcam or controller).
- Components – Check a list of technical components like USB ports, CD drives, and speakers.
- Software Environment – View system control programs and operating processes on your computer.
Windows 7, Vista, and XP

Hold the ⊞ Win key and press R. The Run dialog box will appear, allowing you to execute system commands.

Type msinfo32 in the Run window. This command will open the Windows system information program.

Click the OK button at the bottom of the Run window. The System Information window will then open.

View your computer's system information. There are several tabs in the upper-left corner of the window that you can use to explore different aspects of your system:
- System Summary – This is the default tab that opens when you access System Information; it displays details about your computer's operating system, installed memory, and processor type.
- Hardware Resources – View a list of hardware drivers and related device information (such as webcams or controllers) on your computer.
- Components – Check a list of hardware components such as USB ports, CD drives, and speakers.
- Software Environment – View the control programs and operational processes running on your computer.
- Internet Settings – This option may not be available on your computer; if present, it lets you view different aspects of your internet connection information.
