Whether you've booked your flight online, via phone, or through a travel agency, it's always important to confirm your booking details before going to the airport. You can usually access your booking information on the airline's website, which allows you to view and adjust your seat, purchase meals, and make special service requests. This article will show you how to check and modify your flight booking details on the websites of some well-known airlines. If the airline you're looking for isn't listed, you can still find similar options on most airline websites.
Steps
American Airlines

Find the 6-character booking code. If you booked your flight online, this code will be included in your booking confirmation email. If you have a paper ticket or boarding pass, this code is typically located on the front of the information section.
- Depending on where you booked your flight, the booking code may be referred to as a "Record locator" or "Confirmation code".
- Even if you booked your flight through a travel agency, you can still access your flight details on the airline's website.

Visit https://www.aa.com on your computer, phone, or tablet.

Click on the Your trips / Check in tab located between the "Book flights" and "Flight status" tabs.
- If you only know your flight number and wish to check the estimated arrival or departure times, click on the Flight status tab, enter your flight details, and select Find flight.

Enter the passenger's name and the 6-character booking code. Each passenger must check in individually. Be sure to enter the exact name used when booking your flight.

Click on the Find your trip button in blue. Here, you'll find your booking information, including flight number, departure/arrival times, seating, and upgrades.
- You may be prompted to log in to your American Airlines account if you're not already logged in. If you don't have an account, create one.

Click on the Change trip option to modify your booking. Depending on when and how you purchased your ticket, you may be able to change your seat, meal preference, or flight time.
- If you don't see the Change trip option, contact American Airlines reservations for assistance. Agents are available 24/7. You can find the contact number for your region by clicking here.

Follow the on-screen instructions to check in for your flight (optional). American Airlines allows online check-in up to 24 hours before departure. Online check-in lets you skip the wait at the counter or self-service kiosks at the airport for faster processing.
Delta Airlines

Visit https://www.delta.com/mytrips from your computer, phone, or tablet. Even if you booked your flight through a travel agency, you can still find your flight details on the airline's website.

Select an option to locate your flight. You can search for your flight using your confirmation code, credit/debit card number, or ticket number.
- If you received a booking confirmation email, the email will include both the confirmation code and ticket number. The ticket number consists of 13 digits, while the confirmation code is a 6-character combination of letters and/or numbers.

Enter the passenger's name and other required information. Be sure to enter the name exactly as it appears in your booking details.

Click the FIND MY TRIP button to locate your booking. Here, you'll find your reservation details, including flight number, departure/arrival time, seating, and upgrades.

Scroll down to the "My Trips" section and select your flight. If your flight is connected to your account, the details will be displayed here.

To find your flight, enter your first name, last name, and confirmation code (the 6-digit code on your ticket or in your confirmation email) in the "My Trips" section, click Continue, and follow the on-screen instructions to add and view your flight details.

Change your flight itinerary (optional). Depending on the time and method of ticket purchase, you may be able to upgrade your ticket, modify baggage information, select meals, or choose a different flight time. Since Southwest Airlines does not have a seat selection feature, you won't be able to choose your seat in advance for your flight.

Advice
- Contact the airline in advance if you have special meal requests or food allergies. Call the airline directly or reach out via email if you need a special meal or have food allergies; this will ensure they prepare everything one day before your flight. Airlines typically offer a range of meal options.
- International flights often provide additional snacks.
- Bring identification documents, including your passport (or national ID if flying domestically) and visa, as the airline will need to verify your identity.
- Print your flight confirmation or boarding pass at the airline's help desk when you arrive at the airport.
