Phone cases can gather dirt and bacteria, making it crucial to clean them regularly. The good news is that it's easy to clean your phone case—just use soap and water. You can also disinfect the case by wiping it with alcohol and remove stubborn stains using baking soda. Once done, your phone case will look brand new!
Steps
Clean with Dish Soap

Remove the phone case. Never attempt cleaning the case without first removing it. Water can seep through gaps and damage the phone. Take the phone out and place it in a dry spot.
- If the case is made of plastic and silicone, you should separate the two parts by pulling the flexible silicone away from the hard plastic exterior.

Start by filling a bowl with 240 ml of warm water and add a single drop of dish soap. It is important not to exceed one drop, as using too much soap will cause excessive foam. Stir the soap and water together using a spoon to mix them well.

Dip a new and clean toothbrush into the soapy water mixture. If you don't have a new brush, a clean cloth will work as well. Swirl the brush around in the solution to make sure the bristles get fully soaked with the soapy water.

Use the toothbrush to scrub the phone case. Move the brush back and forth, or in small circular motions, trying to reach every corner and the intricate patterns on the case. Be thorough and make sure you clean both the inside and outside of the case.

Rinse the case thoroughly and dry it with a soft cloth. Ensure you wash off all the soap before drying the case. Use a soft cloth to avoid scratching the case's surface.

Let the phone case air dry for at least one hour. Don’t rush this step and avoid putting your phone back into the case immediately. Even if it seems dry, the remaining moisture could damage your phone. After an hour, you can reassemble your phone into the case.
- Clean your phone case with soap and water whenever it looks dirty or has stains.
Disinfecting the phone case

Remove the case from the phone. Do not proceed with disinfecting while the case is still on the phone. Chemicals could seep into the device and cause damage. If the case has multiple parts, separate them by pulling out the inner pieces from the outer case.

Soak a soft cloth in a cleaning alcohol solution (at least 70% concentration). If your alcohol solution comes in a spray bottle, you can spray it directly onto the phone case rather than using a cloth.

Wipe the phone case with the alcohol-soaked cloth. Use the cloth to clean both the plastic and silicone parts of the case, wiping from the inside out.

Wipe the case again with a dry soft cloth. Be sure to remove any remaining alcohol so the case feels completely dry to the touch.

Wait for one hour before reattaching the case to the phone. Allow the phone case to air dry in a safe place for one hour. After that, you can reattach it to your phone.
- Make it a habit to disinfect your phone case at least once a month to keep it clean and hygienic.
Removing Stubborn Stains

Take the phone out of the case. The first step when preparing to clean your phone case with a liquid solution is to remove the phone to prevent any potential damage. If the case consists of multiple parts, disassemble it by separating the inner piece from the outer hard shell.

Sprinkle baking soda on the stain on the phone case. Don’t apply too much baking soda—just enough to cover the entire stain. Any type of baking soda will work fine.

Scrub the stain with a wet brush using the baking soda on top. Use the brush to scrub the stain back and forth. Continue scrubbing until the stain disappears.
- The stain may not vanish completely with just baking soda. If the stain only fades after scrubbing for a while, you may need to use stronger chemicals.

Clean the phone case with baking soda and a soft cloth. After washing and cleaning, let the case dry for at least one hour. Once it's dry, you can reassemble the phone into the case.
