Today, Mytour will guide you on how to merge two or more Internet connections into a primary network. This approach allows you to distribute the download speed across multiple Internet connections, ensuring that web browsing is not affected by continuous streaming or downloading large files.
Steps
On Windows
Buy a USB Wi-Fi adapter. You'll need this extra device to enable your computer to detect multiple Wi-Fi networks.
- You can purchase a USB Wi-Fi adapter online (such as on shopping sites like Lazada, Tiki, etc.) or from computer hardware stores like Phong Vũ.
- If prompted, follow the on-screen instructions to set up the adapter.
Wi-Fi 2

- Click on Properties
- Select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)
- Click on Properties
- Click on Advanced...
- Uncheck the box labeled "Automatic metric".
- Enter 15 in the "Interface metric" text box.
- Click OK on both windows at the top.
- Click Close at the bottom of both windows.
Power
RestartOn Mac
- If your Mac has one Ethernet port and at least one USB-C (Thunderbolt 3) port, you can purchase Apple's USB-C to Ethernet adapter to create a second Ethernet port.
- If your Mac lacks an Ethernet port but has at least two USB-C (Thunderbolt 3) ports, you can purchase two Apple USB-C to Ethernet adapters to create two Ethernet ports.
- If your Mac only has one USB-C (Thunderbolt 3) port and no Ethernet port, you cannot combine two networks via Ethernet. Instead, try using a load balancing router as an alternative.
- Since Macs can only combine networks using the 802.3ad compliant connection standard, you cannot use a USB 3.0 to Ethernet adapter.
- If your Mac has only one Ethernet port, you will need to connect to an Ethernet adapter first.

Click on the Network (Network). This icon appears in the System Preferences window. After you click it, the Network window will open.
Click on the "Action" (Hành động) gear icon located at the bottom left of the window. A menu will appear.
Click on Manage Virtual Interfaces… (Manage Virtual Interfaces). This option is found in the recently opened "Action" menu. A new window will appear.
Click the + sign at the bottom left of the new window. A dropdown menu will appear.
Click on New Link Aggregate… (New Link Aggregate). This option is located in the dropdown menu.
Select the Ethernet port. Click on the checkbox to the left of each Ethernet connection.
Enter a name. Type a name for your new connection in the text box at the top of the window.
With a load balancing router
Purchase a load balancing router. A load balancing router combines all internet networks into a single broadcast session. You can connect multiple modems with different Wi-Fi networks to the load balancing router, and all the modem networks will be managed.
- A two-port load balancing router costs approximately 900,000 - 2,100,000 VND.

Connect all modems to the router. With two or more Wi-Fi networks being broadcast from separate modems, you can link them to the load balancing router by plugging one end of an Ethernet cable into the square "Internet" port on the modem and the other end into the port at the back of the router.

Access the router configuration page on your computer. You can do this by entering the IP address of your commonly used connection (found in the computer's network settings) into your browser.
- If the configuration page does not load after connecting to the IP address from your computer’s network settings, check the "Basic Setup" section (Thiết lập cơ bản) in your router’s manual to find the correct address.

Click on Advanced. This option is typically located on the left side of the router’s page.
- While most load balancing routers have a similar configuration page, you may notice slight differences in certain options and their placement depending on the manufacturer.

Click on Load Balance (Cân bằng tải). This option is also typically found on the left side of the page.

Uncheck the box for "Enable Application Optimized Routing" (Enable application optimized routing). This box is usually located near the top of the page.

Uncheck the box for "Enable Bandwidth Based Balance Routing" (Enable bandwidth-based balance routing). Completing this step, along with the previous one, allows the router to combine multiple Wi-Fi networks into a single unified network for load balancing.

Click on OK or Save (Save). Your settings will be saved.

Experience the power of a combined network. After setting up the load-balancing router and connecting your computer to its network name via the Wi-Fi menu, you’ll notice a speed boost when browsing the web.
Tip
- When connecting multiple networks, the two networks will share traffic. The improved factor is not download speed but bandwidth (the amount you can download before the speed slows down).
- Try streaming movies while downloading large files on the combined network to see if your bandwidth improves.
- If you don’t have another Wi-Fi connection besides your home or office network, you can use your smartphone as a personal hotspot to create a custom wireless network.
Warning
Combining multiple private networks could potentially violate the terms of your Internet Service Provider contract. It is important to thoroughly review the details of your network service agreement before merging two or more Internet connections.
