This Mytour guide will show you how to leave a comment with a time stamp that links to a specific moment in a YouTube video.
Steps
On Mobile

Open YouTube. Launch the app with the red YouTube icon. To comment on YouTube, you need to sign in to your account.
- If you're not signed in, tap ⋮, tap SIGN IN, enter your email and password, and tap SIGN IN again.

Play the video. This is the video where you want to leave a comment. You can complete this step in several ways:
- Tap the magnifying glass icon at the top-right of the screen, enter the video title, and press Search.
- Tap a video from the Home screen from one of the recently subscribed channels.
- Tap Subscriptions at the bottom of the screen (for iPhone) or at the top (for Android) and select a video.

Tap the video to pause it, then pay attention to the timestamp. You should pause the video at the moment you want to reference. The timestamp will appear in the bottom-left corner of the video in the format hour:minute:second.
- For example, if you pause the video at one minute and thirty seconds, you'll see the timestamp "1:30" in the bottom-left corner of the screen.

Scroll down and tap "Add a public comment". You'll find this option beneath the related videos list, directly below the video.
Type the timestamp that appears on the screen. This step automatically links the timestamp to the specific moment in the video when you post your comment.
- For the above example, you could write "Hey, what happened at 1:30?" to highlight the moment you paused the video.

Tap the blue "Post" arrow. The arrow is located at the bottom-right of the comment box. Once tapped, your comment will be posted, and the timestamp will appear as a clickable blue link.
On a desktop computer

Visit the YouTube website. You'll be directed to the YouTube homepage if you are already signed in.
- If you're not signed in, click Sign in at the top-right of the page, enter your email and password, then click Sign in again.

Open the desired video. You can type the video title in the search bar near the top of the page and press ↵ Enter (or ⏎ Return), or you can choose a video directly from the homepage.

Click on the video to pause, then check the time. The timestamp will appear near the bottom-left of the video window, just to the right of the volume icon. It will be displayed in the format hour:minute:second.
- You will also see the video length displayed to the right of the current timestamp in the format "current timestamp / video length".
- For example: If you pause a 5-minute video at 2 minutes and 3 seconds, you will see "2:03 / 5:00".

Scroll down and click "Add a public comment". This option is located beneath the video registration box, right below the "COMMENTS" section.

Type the current timestamp that appears in the video. This step helps link the timestamp to the moment the video is paused when you submit a comment.
- For example: You can type something like "Check out 2:03" in the comment box.

Click Comment. This button is located at the bottom-right of the comment box. Clicking it will post your comment. The timestamp will automatically turn blue and be associated with the desired moment.
Tip
- You can add multiple timestamps within a single comment.
- If you want to create a table of contents in the video description, you'll need to link specific parts of the video to precise timestamps, just like when adding timestamps to comments.
Warning
- You must always enter the current timestamp accurately, or the link may become broken.
