In this article, Mytour will guide you through the process of adjusting Virtual Private Network (VPN) settings on Mac, Windows, or on smartphones like iPhone and Android. To configure VPN settings, you first need to connect to a VPN. Most VPNs are not free; you will need to sign up and pay before establishing a connection.
Steps
On Windows



Select VPN. Click on the name of the VPN you wish to configure.
Click on Advanced options (Advanced options). This option is located below the VPN name you selected. This action opens the VPN page.
- Click on + Add a VPN connection (Add a VPN connection) if this is your first time adding a VPN connection.
Click on Edit (Edit). This option is located in the middle of the page. The VPN settings page will open.
Configure VPN information. You can modify the following details:
- Connection name (Connection name) - The name of the VPN on your computer.
- Server name or address (Server name or address) - Change the VPN server address.
- VPN type (VPN type) - Adjust the connection type.
- Type of sign-in info (Type of sign-in info) - Choose a new sign-in method (e.g., Password (Password)).
- User name (optional) (User name (optional)) - If needed, update the username for VPN login.
- Password (optional) (Password (optional)) - If required, change the VPN login password.
On Mac

- Configuration - Click the dropdown at the top of the window and select a configuration type (e.g., Default).
- Server Address - Enter a new server address.
- Account Name - Change the account name used for VPN login.
Authentication Setup Configuration. You can modify the following options:
- User Authentication - Check the box on the left for the authentication method you prefer (e.g., Password), then enter your response.
- Machine Authentication - Select the server VPN authentication option.
Click on the OK button. This button is located near the bottom of the Authentication Settings window.
On iPhone
Settings
Scroll down and select VPN. This option is located near the bottom of the General page.
Locate the VPN connection. Identify the VPN connection name from the list provided below.
Click on ⓘ. This button is positioned to the right of the VPN connection name.
Select Edit. This option is located in the upper right corner of the screen.
Configure VPN details. You can modify the following information:
- Server - Update the VPN server address if it changes.
- Remote ID - Update the VPN control ID.
- User Authentication - Click here, then choose Username or Certificate to change the authentication method.
- Username or Certificate - Enter the username or certificate for VPN authentication.
- Password - Enter the VPN password if required.
On Android

Scroll down and select More (More). This option is located under the "Wireless & networks" section.
Tap on VPN. You can find this option under the "Wireless & networks" section in the dropdown menu.
Select VPN. Tap on the VPN you wish to edit.
Configure VPN. You can modify the following details:
- Name - Enter a new name for the VPN.
- Connection type - Tap on this option, then choose a new connection type (e.g., PPTP).
- Server address - Update the VPN address.
- Username - Update the username.
- Password - Update the password.

- Entering incorrect information during VPN setup may cause the VPN to malfunction.
