In this article, Mytour will guide you through the process of pairing a Bluetooth speaker with both Windows and Mac laptops.
Steps
On Windows

Turn on your Bluetooth speaker. Press the "Power" button to activate the speaker. Different models may have slight variations in the power-on process. If you encounter issues, refer to the speaker's user manual for guidance.
- If the speaker requires a power connection, ensure it is plugged in before proceeding.
- For optimal pairing, place the speaker as close to the laptop as possible.





Click on the Devices option located near the top of the Settings page.

Select Bluetooth & other devices. This tab is located on the left side of the Devices page.

Turn on Bluetooth. Click the "Off" switch under the "Bluetooth" section near the top of the page to enable Bluetooth.
- If the switch displays "On" on the right side, Bluetooth is already active.

Press the "Pair" button on your speaker. The speaker will now search for Bluetooth connections (such as your computer) to pair with. Different speakers may have varying button layouts, so consult the user manual if you cannot locate the "Pair" button.
Click the + Add Bluetooth or other device button at the top of the page.

Select the Bluetooth option at the top of the Add a Device window.

Click on your speaker's name. The speaker's name will quickly appear in the window. Click on the name to select the speaker.
- The brand and model of the speaker will likely be displayed.

Press Pair on the right, below the speaker's name in the window, to connect the speaker to your computer. You can now play music and audio files from your computer through the speaker.
On Mac

Turn on the Bluetooth speaker. Press the "Power" button to activate the speaker. Different models may have slight variations in the power-on process. If you encounter issues, refer to the speaker's user manual.
- If the speaker requires a power connection, ensure it is plugged in before proceeding.
- For optimal pairing, place the speaker as close to the laptop as possible.

Click Open Bluetooth Preferences… at the bottom of the dropdown menu. The Bluetooth settings menu will appear.
- Skip this step if you accessed the Bluetooth settings menu directly from System Preferences.

Enable Bluetooth if it is not already on. Click the Turn Bluetooth On button on the left side of the window. If the button displays Turn Bluetooth Off instead, Bluetooth is already active.

Press the "Pair" button on your speaker. The speaker will begin searching for Bluetooth connections (such as your computer) to pair with. Once detected, the Bluetooth connection will appear in the "Devices" section of the Bluetooth window. Different speakers have varying button layouts, so consult the user manual if you cannot locate the "Pair" button.
- You may need to hold the "Pair" button for a few seconds.

Click the Pair button next to the speaker's name in the "Devices" section of the Bluetooth window. The computer and speaker will connect within seconds. Once paired, you can play audio from your Mac through the Bluetooth speaker.
- The speaker's name displayed will likely include the manufacturer's name and model.
Tips
- If you prefer not to use a wireless connection, you can often connect a Bluetooth speaker to your laptop using a standard mm audio jack and auxiliary cable.
- Some Bluetooth speakers, especially portable ones, are battery-powered and require charging when the battery is low.
Warnings
- If the speaker is more than 9 meters away from the laptop, the connection is likely to experience interference.
