Today, Mytour will guide you on how to connect your Samsung Smart TV to the internet by adding it to your Wi-Fi network. Once connected, you can access online-only features such as web-based apps, streaming services, and much more.
Steps
Connecting Samsung TV to Wi-Fi

Turn on your Samsung Smart TV. Press the power button on the remote or directly on the TV.
- Samsung Smart TVs come in various models. This method works for most of the latest models, but your TV might have a different settings menu. If you have trouble finding the options, you can download the user manual for your specific model at https://www.samsung.com/us/support/downloads.

Press the Menu, Home, or SmartHub button on your remote control. The Home menu will appear.

Select General (General).

Select Network (Network).

Select Open Network Settings (Open Network Settings) or Network Setup (Network Setup). The options in this menu may vary depending on your model.

Select the connection type Wireless (Wireless). The Wi-Fi network list will appear.
- If you cannot see the desired network, you can try restarting the Wi-Fi access point.
- For 2018 Smart TV models (NU7100, NU710D, NU7300, and NU730D), they only support 2.4GHz Wi-Fi networks. These models will not connect to 5GHz networks. Models from 2019 onward support both 5GHz and 2.4GHz connections.

Select a Wi-Fi network. If the network is password-protected, a dialog box will appear prompting you to enter the password.

Enter the Wi-Fi password and select Done (Done). Your Samsung Smart TV will start connecting to the Wi-Fi network.

Press OK when the "Successful" message appears. Once the TV is online, you can begin using Internet-required services.
Troubleshoot Wi-Fi

Turn off the Smart TV and turn it back on. Some models may require a restart for the system to apply the changes.

Ensure that the Wi-Fi network is available and functioning properly. Test by connecting your computer, phone, or tablet to the same network that your Smart TV is using to see if the network is stable. If you can't browse the web, there may be an issue with the router or your internet service provider.
- Try restarting your Wi-Fi access point/router, as this is often the cause of connection issues.
- If you are unable to access the network on any device, contact your service provider for assistance.

Check your router settings. If your Wi-Fi router has a MAC filter, you may need to manually add the TV's MAC address to allow internet access. Here's how to find your Smart TV's MAC address:
- Open the Settings menu on the TV.
- Select About this TV or Contact Samsung. The option may vary by model.
- Scroll down to find the MAC address, which will consist of 6 pairs of letters and numbers separated by hyphens (-).

Move the wireless access point closer to the TV. If the network is functioning normally but the TV can't connect, the issue may be due to the distance between the TV and the access point. If possible, place both devices in the same room, ensuring that the signal is not obstructed by walls or furniture. Samsung recommends positioning the router as close to the Smart TV as possible (no more than 15 meters away).
- If you can't move the access point closer to the TV, consider using a Wi-Fi extender to boost the signal.
- In apartment buildings, other devices in neighboring units can interfere with your Wi-Fi performance. Move the TV or router away from shared walls to improve the connection.

Use a wired connection. If Wi-Fi is not working well, you can connect the TV to the router using an Ethernet cable:
- Plug one end of the cable into the port on the back or side of the TV and the other end into an available LAN port on the access point/router.
- Press the Menu or Home button on the remote control and select Network.
- Select Network Settings.
- Select Network Type.
- Select Wired.
- Select Connect.

Update the TV's firmware. If the issue isn't with your Internet provider, you may need to update your TV. Since the TV is currently offline, you will need to use a computer with an internet connection and a USB drive to download the update.
- Go to https://www.samsung.com/us/support/downloads on your computer.
- Select your TV model.
- Download the latest firmware update to your USB drive.
- Insert the USB drive into the TV.
- Press the Home or Menu button on the remote and select Support.
- Select Software Update and choose Update Now.
- Select USB and follow the on-screen instructions to apply the update.
