Samsung Galaxy and other Android devices can easily connect to a Samsung Smart TV using the Quick Connect or Smart View app. Samsung Smart View is also available on the App Store for iPhone and iPad users.
Steps
Streaming from a Multimedia App

Connect your Samsung TV and phone to the same network. To cast your phone to the TV, both devices must be connected to the same Wi-Fi network.

Open the app you want to cast. Many multimedia streaming apps support casting to smart TVs, including Netflix, Hulu, YouTube, Amazon Prime, iHeart Radio, Pandora, and more.



Tap on your Samsung TV. Once your phone scans the list of nearby devices, select the Samsung TV you want to cast to.

Choose the content to play. Browse through the app's multimedia options to cast to your TV. When you find the content you want to watch, tap on the file on your phone's screen.


- You can still open other apps and browse the web on your phone while casting multimedia to your TV.
Mirroring Samsung Galaxy Screen to TV

Connect your phone and Samsung TV to the same network. For your smartphone to detect the TV, both devices must be connected to the same Wi-Fi network. During the setup process, ensure that both your smartphone and Samsung TV are linked to the same network.

Swipe down from the top of the screen with two fingers. This action will reveal the notification panel. To access quick settings icons, you may need to swipe down twice or use a two-finger swipe.
- iPhone and iPad users can refer to "How to Use Smart View on iPhone or iPad" to learn about downloading the Smart View app from the App Store and connecting to a Samsung Smart TV.

Tap on Quick Connect or Smart View. Older Android versions may display "Quick Connect" or "Search phone and scan for nearby devices" below the quick settings icons. On newer Android versions, Smart View is located within the quick settings icons. The app features an icon of two squares connected by an arrow.
- If you don't see Smart View in the quick settings, swipe left to view more options.
- When using Quick Connect for the first time, you may be prompted to activate or update the app.

Tap on Scan for nearby devices. Most smartphones can automatically scan for nearby devices. If you don't see a list of nearby devices, tap on Scan for nearby devices.

Tap on your Samsung Smart TV. Once your phone detects nearby devices, select your Samsung Smart TV from the list. This will mirror your phone's screen onto the Samsung TV.
Using Your Phone as a Remote Control

Connect your phone and Samsung TV to the same network. For your smartphone to detect the TV, both devices must be connected to the same Wi-Fi network. During the setup process, ensure that both your smartphone and Samsung TV are linked to the same network.

Download the Samsung Smart View app. The Samsung Smart View app features a red, white, and blue icon with a TV image and Wi-Fi signal bars below. Follow these steps to download the Samsung Smart View app from the Google Play Store.
- Open the Google Play Store.
- Type Samsung Smart View into the search bar at the top of the screen.
- Tap on Samsung Smart View.
- Click Install on the Samsung Smart View information page.

Open the Samsung Smart View app. After installing the Samsung Smart View app, you can launch it by tapping "Open" in the Google Play Store or by selecting the Samsung Smart View icon on your home screen/app drawer.

Tap on your Samsung Smart TV. The first time you open the app, a list of Samsung Smart TVs on the same Wi-Fi network will appear. Select the TV you want to connect to.
- Tap Allow if prompted to grant the Samsung Smart View app access to photos and videos on your phone. You can use the app to stream videos and photos to your TV.

Select Allow on your TV. When the prompt appears on your TV, use the remote control to choose Allow, granting permission for the TV to connect with the Smart View app.

Tap on the remote control icon. This option, featuring a TV remote icon, is located in the bottom-right corner of the Smart View app. The remote will appear on your phone's screen, allowing you to control your TV.
- You can also use the Smart View app to launch applications installed on your TV.
