You can reach PayPal by phone or email. Both methods are simple and can be done easily if you are logged into your PayPal account beforehand. However, if you cannot or prefer not to use these methods, you can still contact customer service for assistance.
Steps to Follow
Contact PayPal via Phone

Log into PayPal. Visit PayPal's login page and enter your username and password. Then, click the 'Log In' button to access your account, which will redirect you to the Account Summary page.
- If you have a PayPal account, logging in is highly recommended for faster support. However, you can still contact PayPal by phone if you can't or prefer not to log in, or if you don't have an account yet.

Go to the Contact page. Scroll down to the bottom of the Account Summary page and locate the 'Contact' link. Click this link to be redirected to the Help Center.
- Note: The 'Contact' link is usually located at the bottom of any PayPal page, so you can still access the Help Center even if you're on a page other than Account Summary.

Click the Call Us link. This 'Call Us' link is located near the top of the main Help Center page. You'll need to click it to be redirected to the phone FAQ page.
- If you're not logged in yet, you'll be prompted to do so. Click 'Log In' or scroll down to the 'Contact Us as a Guest' section and click 'Help Center as a Guest'.

Obtain your one-time passcode. The 'One-time passcode' section is located on the phone FAQ page. Below this, you'll find a string of numbers in an orange box. This is your personal passcode.
- The passcode is temporary and unique, expiring after 60 minutes. If you cannot contact PayPal before this time, you'll need to start the process again and generate a new code.
- This code helps speed up the process, providing quicker answers. However, if you're using PayPal as a guest, you will not receive this code. In that case, proceed to the next step and call the Help Center.

Call PayPal's support hotline. Dial 1-888-221-1161 for PayPal's Help Center. When prompted, enter your one-time passcode (if available) and follow the phone instructions to be directed to a support agent or receive an appropriate recorded message.
- If you're calling from outside the United States, dial 1-402-935-2050.
- If calling from Vietnam, it's best to call between 7:00 PM and 1:00 AM (Monday to Friday). On Saturdays and Sundays, call between 9:00 PM and 11:00 AM the following day. These hours may vary on public holidays.
Log in and reach out to PayPal via email.

Log in to PayPal. Go to the PayPal login page. Enter your username and password, then click the 'Log In' button to access your account. You will be redirected to the Account Summary page.
- If possible, logging into a PayPal account is highly recommended. If you do not have an account or face login issues, check the 'Contact PayPal via email without logging in' section in this article to learn how to do so.

Navigate to the Contact page. Find the 'Contact' link at the bottom of the Account Summary page. After clicking the link, you'll be directed to the Help Center.
- Note: the 'Contact' link is usually located at the bottom of any PayPal page, so you can still access the Help Center even if you're on a different page than Account Summary.

Click the Email Us link. This link is near the top of the Help Center page. Clicking it will take you to the contact form.
- If you're not logged in, you'll be prompted to do so first.

Select a topic and sub-topic. There are two drop-down menus on the 'Email Us' page where you need to select a primary topic from the 'Choose a topic' menu and a sub-topic from the 'Choose a sub-topic' menu.
- Sub-topics provide more details on the main topic; in other words, you need to select a main topic first for related sub-topics to appear in the form. These sub-topics vary depending on the main topic selected.
- Topics include:

- PayPal Credit
- Business Solutions
- Disputes
- My Account
- Negative Balance/Limitations
- PayPal Extras MasterCard
- PayPal Debit Card
- Product and Features

Enter your message. After selecting the main and sub-topic, the text box will appear. Click in the box and type your question, complaint, or detailed feedback.
- Provide as much detail as possible in your message. The Help Center will be able to resolve your issue more easily if you describe the situation in detail.

Click on the 'Send' button. Double-check the subject, subtopic, and message. If everything looks good, click the 'Send' button located below the text box to submit your message.
- Typically, within 1 to 2 business days, a representative from PayPal's customer service will respond briefly. The response will be sent to the email address linked to your PayPal account.
Contact PayPal via email without logging in

Access the Help Center. Go to PayPal and directly visit the Help Center page by clicking the 'Contact' link at the bottom of every PayPal page.

Click on the Email Us link. The 'Email Us' link is near the top of the main Help Center page. Clicking this link will direct you to the appropriate page.
- This page will prompt for login; it's strongly recommended to log in if possible. However, if you can't log in, proceed to the next step.

Go to the contact form for guests. If you can't log in to your PayPal account or wish to contact PayPal as a guest, click on the 'Having problems logging in?' link under the 'Contact Us As a Guest' heading.
- While technically this link should only be used if you can't log in, you may still try to use this method if you don't have an account yet.
- Note: there's also a 'contact Help Center as a guest' link. However, clicking this link will show the help center's phone number instead of the email form.

Enter your contact information. You need to provide your first name, last name, and email address (in this order) within the first three lines of the "Problems logging in?" contact form.
- If you have a PayPal account but are unable to log in, make sure to use the name and email address associated with that account when filling out the form.

Enter your message. After providing your contact information, click inside the "Message" text box and type your full question or issue.
- Providing as much detailed information as possible when filling out the form will help PayPal resolve the issue quickly and effectively.

Click the Send button. Double-check your information, then click the "Send" button located beneath the contact form to submit your message.
- A PayPal customer service representative will respond to the email address you provided, usually within one or two business days.
- Note: PayPal only shares account details with the account holder, so they will need to verify your identity before providing that information.
Advice
- If you receive a suspicious email claiming to be from PayPal, forward it to [email protected]. The Help Center will investigate and let you know whether the email is legitimate or a scam.
- The Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) section on the Help Center contains articles on common issues that you may want to review before emailing or calling PayPal. Typically, you'll get a faster response if the issue is not particularly rare.
