Sometimes, it can be frustrating when you're unable to edit the content of a scanned JPEG file as you would with an MS Word document. Optical Character Recognition (OCR) technology allows us to convert a scanned JPEG file into an editable Word document, enabling the necessary changes. You can either use an online OCR service or download OCR software for the conversion.
Steps
Online OCR Services

Visit http://www.onlineocr.net. This website allows you to convert JPEG images to Word documents for free.

Select the image file you want to convert from your computer.

Choose the language of the text in the scanned image.

Select the desired output file format – by default, it’s .docx

Enter the captcha code and click the convert button.

Download the .docx file once the conversion is complete.
Download OCR Software

Click this link: "JPEG to Word Converter" to download and install the software.
Open the JPEG file in the software and choose Word as the desired file format. Then click the Save button.

The Word file will be converted and opened in the software.
Tips
- The higher the resolution of the scanned JPEG file, the better the quality of the output Word document.
Warning
- OCR technology is not 100% accurate. The conversion may not always be perfect.
