This guide provides step-by-step instructions on converting YouTube videos into MP3 audio files, allowing you to download them to your computer or smartphone. Numerous free online tools are available for this purpose. If one tool doesn't work or blocks certain content, you can easily switch to another. However, downloading music from official music videos is often restricted on YouTube, making most websites unsuitable for extracting MP3s from such videos.
Steps
Using MP3 Converter on a Computer

Open YouTube. Visit https://www.youtube.com/ using your browser. The YouTube homepage will appear.
- Logging into YouTube is unnecessary unless the video you want to watch has age restrictions.

Find the video you want to download. Click on the search bar at the top of the YouTube page, enter the video's name, and press ↵ Enter.

Select the video. Click on the video you wish to download. This action will open and play the video.
- Ensure the video is not part of a playlist. Otherwise, you won't be able to download it as playlist URLs are incompatible with online conversion tools.

the video's URL. Click on the address bar at the top of your browser window to highlight the URL, then press Ctrl+C (Windows) or ⌘ Command+C (Mac).
- If the URL doesn't highlight when clicked, try double-clicking or dragging your cursor over it.

Open the MP3 Converter website. Go to https://www.mp3converter.net/ using your browser.

Paste the video's URL. Click on the input field at the top of the MP3 Converter page, then press Ctrl+V (Windows) or ⌘ Command+V (Mac) to paste the video's URL.

Select the file type. Click on the dropdown menu labeled "Choose file type to convert to," then select .mp3.

Click on Start. This green button at the bottom of the page will initiate the conversion process, transforming the video into an MP3 file within minutes.

Click on Download your converted file when prompted. A green button will appear on the left side of the page once the conversion is complete. Clicking it will download the MP3 file to your computer.
- Download time may vary depending on the file size and your internet connection speed.
Using Convert2MP3 on a Computer

Open YouTube. Visit https://www.youtube.com/ using your browser. This will take you to the YouTube homepage.
- Logging into YouTube is unnecessary unless the video you want to download has age restrictions.

Find the video you want to download. Click on the search bar at the top of the YouTube page, enter the video's name, and press ↵ Enter.

Select the video. Click on the video you wish to download. This will open and play the video.
- If the video is part of a playlist, ensure you find a standalone video. Playlist URLs are incompatible with online conversion tools, preventing downloads.

- If the URL doesn't highlight when clicked, try double-clicking or dragging your cursor over the entire address.

Open the Convert2MP3 website. Visit http://convert2mp3.net/en/ using your browser.

Paste the video's URL. Click on the "Insert video link" field, then press Ctrl+V (Windows) or ⌘ Command+V (Mac) to paste the video's URL.

Click on convert. This orange button is located on the right side of the page.

Edit the MP3 file's metadata. This step ensures the MP3 file uses specific details for categorization in programs like Groove or iTunes. You can modify the following fields:
- artist - Enter the artist's name. By default, this is the uploader's username or part of the video title.
- name - Enter the song's name. By default, a portion of the video title appears here.
- You can also download the file without audio tags by clicking Skip this page (no tags).

Click on Continue. This green button at the bottom of the metadata page will start the conversion process immediately.
- Skip this step if you bypassed the previous page.

Click on Download when prompted. Once the green Download button appears, click it to save the MP3 file to your computer. The YouTube video's MP3 will be downloaded to your computer's "Downloads" folder by default.
On iPhone
Download the Documents by Readdle app.
App Store- Tap on Search at the bottom right corner.
- Tap on the search bar at the top of the screen.
- Type documents by readdle
- Tap on GET next to the title "Documents by Readdle".
- Enter your Touch ID or Apple ID password when prompted.

Open Documents. Simply tap on the Documents app icon.
- You may need to swipe through a few tutorial pages before proceeding.

Open the Documents browser. Tap on the Safari icon at the bottom right corner of the screen, then decline if prompted to enter an email address.

Open the GenYouTube website. Clear the address bar at the top of the screen, then type genyoutube.net and tap on Search.

Search for the video. Tap on the GenYouTube search bar near the top of the page, enter the name of the YouTube video you want to download, and tap on Search.
- Since GenYouTube uses YouTube as its search engine, you can find any YouTube video on GenYouTube.

Select the video. Tap on the video you wish to download in MP3 format.

Scroll down to the "Download Links" section and tap on the MP3 link. You will see at least one MP3 option under the "Download Links" heading; tapping this option will prompt GenYouTube to download the MP3 file to your iPhone.
- If GenYouTube still shows the download page, tap the ← "Back" icon at the bottom left of the screen twice, then reselect the video and tap the MP3 download link again.

Enter a name when prompted. In the Documents window that appears, type the desired name for the MP3 file in the "Name" field at the top of the screen.

Tap on Done. This option is located at the top right corner of the screen. The MP3 file will then be downloaded to the Documents app.

Play the MP3 file. Tap on the "Downloads" arrow at the bottom of the screen, then tap on the MP3 file you want to listen to once the download is complete.
On Android

Open YouTube. Tap on the YouTube icon, which features a white triangle on a red background.
Search for the video.

Select the video. Scroll down through the search results until you find the video you want to download in MP3 format, then tap on it.

Tap on Share. This option is located below the video playback window. A new window will appear on the screen.

Tap on link. This option is available in the displayed window. The YouTube video's link will be copied to your Android's clipboard.



Open the YouTubeMP3 website. Tap on the address bar at the top of Chrome to highlight its content, then type youtubemp3.to and tap on the "Enter" or "Search" key.

Enter the YouTube video's URL. Tap on the input field in the middle of the page to bring up your Android's keyboard, then tap on the field again and select PASTE when the option appears. The YouTube video's URL will now be displayed in the input field.

Tap on CONVERT. This is the red button in the center of the screen. Tapping it will immediately start the video conversion process.
- If the browser redirects you to an ad page, tap the X on the current tab, open a new tab, return to YouTubeMP3.to, and re-enter the URL.

Tap on DOWNLOAD when prompted. This green button will appear once the video has been downloaded.

Play the MP3 file. Open your Android's default file manager or the Files app (or download ES File Explorer), then follow these steps:
- Select your Android's storage location (e.g., SD card).
- Find and tap on the Download or Downloads folder.
- Locate and tap on the MP3 file to play it.
