This guide explains how to generate a special link that allows others to subscribe to your YouTube channel directly from any website. When someone clicks or taps on this link from a website or their social media profile, they will be instantly directed to your subscription page.
Steps
Using a computer
Go to https://www.youtube.com using your web browser. If you are not logged in, click the SIGN IN button located at the top right corner of the page to log in immediately.
Click the profile icon in the upper right corner of the page to reveal the menu.
Click on Your channel (Your Channel) located near the top of the menu. This action will open your channel’s homepage.
Select the URL in the address bar. You can do this by clicking on the address located at the top of your browser window.
Press ⌘ Cmd+C (on Mac) or Ctrl+C (on Windows) to copy the URL path to your clipboard.
Launch a text editor on your computer. For Windows, try using Notepad or Wordpad from the Start menu. On a Mac, open TextEdit or Pages from the Applications folder.

Use your phone or tablet.
Open YouTube on your phone or tablet. The app has a red rectangular icon with a white triangle pointing to the right. You can usually find this app on the home screen or in the app drawer. If you're using Android, make sure the device has an app that allows text editing. You can download any text editor app from the Play Store, such as Monospace, Google Docs, or Text Editor.
Tap on the profile picture at the top right corner of the screen.
Tap on the 'Your Channel' option near the top of the menu.
Tap the three-dot menu icon at the top-right corner of YouTube.
Tap on Share to open the sharing options for your phone or tablet.
Tap on the Copy link option (Copy link) or Copy on some Android versions. This action will copy the channel's URL to your clipboard.
Open the Notes app. If you're using an iPhone or iPad, the Notes app with its yellow, white, and gray note page icon is used. On Android, you can use Google Docs or any app that allows data entry.
Press and hold the input field. A small menu will appear after a few seconds.
Tap on Paste. The copied URL will be displayed on this page.
Add ?sub_confirmation=1 to the end of the URL. Make sure there's no space; simply append this part after the last character of the URL.
- For example, if the URL is https://www.youtube.com/user/Mytour?view_as=subscriber, it will now change to https://www.youtube.com/user/Mytour?view_as=subscriber?sub_confirmation=1.
Copy the new URL. To do this, press and hold part of the URL, drag to highlight the entire URL in a different color, then select Copy from the menu.
- You may need to press and hold the highlighted URL to see the Copy option in the menu.
Navigate to where you want to insert the link. This could be anywhere that allows URL input, including the HTML of a website, social media profiles, or email signatures. On social media, you will insert the URL into the "Website" or "URL" field.

- If you want to insert a link into a social media profile like Instagram or Twitter, you may need to use a URL shortening service so the address isn't too long and messy. Some popular options are Tiny.cc or Bitly.
Press and hold the input field, then select Paste. The subscription link will appear here.
- Be sure to save the code and/or update the page to save the changes.
