Today, Mytour will guide you on how to shoot, edit, and post a music video using the free TikTok app available for both iPhone and Android devices.
Steps
Select Music

Open TikTok. Tap the TikTok app, which is marked by the musical note icon. If you're logged into your account, the TikTok homepage will appear.
- You must log in (or create) a TikTok account to make videos.
- If you don't have the TikTok app on your iPhone or Android, you can download it from the App Store (iPhone) or Google Play Store (Android). Click here to access TikTok's official website, then choose "App Store" or "Google Play" depending on your device.

Tap the + button at the bottom of TikTok’s homepage to begin recording your video. The camera interface will appear.

Tap on the Pick a Sound option at the top of the screen. The Music menu will open.

Select a song. You can choose music from TikTok's existing library, then tap on Shoot with this sound to proceed.

Choose the start point for your music. By default, the song in the library will start from the beginning. You can change the start time by:
- Tap the "Cut" button with the scissor icon on the right side of the screen.
- Scroll to the point where you want the song to begin. The app will notify you with "Beginning shooting from (time in seconds)".
- Tap the checkmark to save your changes.
Make the video

Point the camera at your subject. Aim your phone towards the object or person you wish to film.
- You can flip the camera by tapping the two rotating arrows at the top-right corner of the screen.

Record the video. Hold down the circular video recording button at the bottom of the screen while filming. Alternatively, you can tap the button if it's in circle mode.
- Releasing your finger or tapping the stop button will pause the recording and add a cut to your final project.

Hands-free filming. Tap the timer icon on the right side of the screen, select the time you want the video to stop, and then tap Start Countdown. The camera will countdown from 3 and begin recording until you reach your desired sound. After that, you can record hands-free without holding down the button.
- You can return to manual recording mode at any time by tapping the "Stop" button at the bottom of the screen.

Add effects to your video. Enhance your video with the following options:
- Beauty effect — Tap the magic wand icon to apply the "beauty" effect, which smooths your skin and brightens the image.
- Color filters — Tap the filter button on the right side of the camera interface and choose a color filter. You can also swipe to switch between filters.
- Lenses — Tap the button in the bottom-left corner of the screen and select a lens for your face in the frame. The lens uses facial recognition to apply masks or themes to faces in the video.
- Speed control — Use this to adjust the speed of the video. You can toggle the switches above the record button, but the final speed setting will be saved.
The video duration should be between 3 and 15 seconds. Videos must be at least 3 seconds long and no more than 15 seconds if music is included.
- If you choose music, the video will automatically be trimmed to the 15-second mark.

Delete the project if you wish to start over. If you'd like to return to your project, simply click the X in the top-left corner of the screen and hit Reshoot, or you can delete the current project entirely by clicking the X and then selecting Exit from the menu.
- You can also tap the delete button in the lower-right corner to remove the last recorded segment.

Edit your video. Tap the checkmark in the bottom-right corner to save the video and proceed to the editing page.

- Public video mode displays your video to everyone and allows anyone to share it.
- Friends-only video mode restricts visibility to those who follow you back.
- Private video mode ensures the video is visible only to you.

Tap the Post button. This red button is located at the bottom-right corner of the screen. Your video will be published on TikTok.
- If you wish to share the video on Instagram, Facebook, or via camera roll, tap the corresponding buttons above the "Save to Drafts" option.
- You can also choose to save the video to your device by tapping the Save to Drafts option in the lower-left corner.
Tips
- You can record a maximum of 15 seconds of music video on TikTok.
- The TikTok interface differs by country, but they generally look very similar.
- Music must be available in the TikTok library.
- You can create a "duet" video and collaborate with another TikTok user regardless of location. Simply go to their profile (if you follow them and they follow you), select a video, tap the Share icon, choose Duet, and follow the on-screen instructions to record your segment alongside theirs.
Warning
- You can limit access by clicking the 'X' in the top left corner or by closing the app until you've finished editing and saved the video. Otherwise, your progress and changes may be lost. If the app crashes or freezes due to an error, you will be prompted to continue editing or save a draft.
