PayPal is a popular online payment system that allows you to shop online without needing to re-enter your payment information for every transaction. You can easily set up a PayPal account and start using it within just a few minutes.
Steps
Create an Account

Visit the PayPal website or open the PayPal app. You can create an account directly from the PayPal homepage or through the app. The PayPal app is available for free download from the app store on your device. The account creation process is generally the same on both the website and the app.

Click on "Sign Up for Free" or tap "Sign Up" to start the account creation process.
- Business accounts have two options with varying service fees and benefits. The Standard account is typically free, but customers must follow PayPal's payment process. The Pro account charges $30 (about 700,000 VND) per month, offering full control over the payment process.
- The Standard business account is similar to the old PayPal Premier account. This account is best suited for frequent eBay sellers and buyers.

Enter your email address and create a password. Make sure to create a strong password to keep your account secure.
- You must enter an active email address, as you will need it to verify your account.

Fill in your personal details on the form. You'll need to provide your full name, address, and phone number. These are the basic details required to set up your account.

Enter your credit or debit card details (optional). After filling in your personal information, you'll be prompted to add your credit or debit card details. You can enter this information immediately or skip it for now, but you'll need it for account verification.
- If you prefer not to enter card details right away, you can click "I'd rather link my bank first" to connect your bank account instead.

Enter your bank account information (optional). Linking a bank account is required if you want to receive money and transfer it to your bank. You can skip this step if you don’t want to link your bank account right now. Simply click "I'll link my bank later" to bypass this step. You’ll be asked to confirm that you wish to skip this step.

Sign up for PayPal's credit services (optional). Before you are redirected to the Summary page, PayPal will ask if you'd like to register for a credit service. This step is optional, and it's recommended to read the terms carefully before signing up. If you don't wish to enroll, simply click "No thanks" to skip this offer.
Account Verification

Verify your email address. To receive funds via PayPal, you must confirm your email address. You'll usually receive a confirmation email after creating your account. Click the "Yes, this is my email" button in the email to confirm your address.
- If you can't find the email, check your Spam folder or the "Purchases" label in Gmail. You can request PayPal to resend the email from the account Summary page by clicking "Confirm Email" to get another confirmation email.

Link your bank account. To send money from your bank account or transfer received funds into your bank, you need to link your bank account with PayPal. Click the "Link a bank" option on the Summary page to start this process. Sending money to friends and family from a linked bank account is often cheaper than using a credit or debit card.
- If your bank is listed, you can enter your bank details online for automatic linking.
- If your bank is not listed, you’ll need to provide your account number and routing number. You can find these details on your bank account information slip. The confirmation process typically takes one or two days. PayPal will make two small deposits into your account, usually no more than $1 (about 23,000 VND). You must enter these amounts to confirm you're the account holder. You can check the deposit amounts on your online statement after 24-48 hours.

Link a credit or debit card. PayPal allows you to manage multiple credit and debit cards, making payments on websites without needing to re-enter your information for each transaction. Click the "Link a card" option on the Summary page to add a card to your PayPal wallet. You'll need to enter the card number, expiration date, and security code. The name on the card must match the name you provided when creating the account. Once entered, your card will be linked immediately.
- This method can also be used to add pre-paid gift cards from Visa, MasterCard, American Express, or Discover.
