In the fun and interactive online game Skribbl.io, players draw pictures and guess what others are drawing. A private room in Skribbl is accessible only through a specific link, making it ideal for playing with a select group of people. This article will guide you through the steps to create your own private room!
Steps
Visit https://skribbl.io/ using your web browser. You can use any web browser on your PC or Mac to access and play Skribbl.io.

Enter your name in the first box. Type your name or nickname into the text box above the avatar image.
- You can also leave this box blank, and a random name will be assigned to you.

Select your language. Use the dropdown menu next to your name to choose the language. This step sets the language for the room you are about to create.

Click the top arrow to change the eyes (if desired). The character in the center of the left window represents your avatar in the game. Use the arrows on either side to customize the eyes. Click the top arrows to switch between 31 different eye options.
- You can also click the dice icon in the top-right corner to randomly select an avatar.

Click the middle arrow to change the character's mouth (if desired). The middle arrows allow you to modify the mouth of your avatar. You can choose from 24 different mouth options.

Click the bottom arrow to change the character's color (if desired). The bottom arrows let you adjust the color of your avatar. There are 18 different colors to choose from.

Click Create Private Room. This blue button is located at the bottom of the window. It takes you to a private room where you can invite others, rather than a public room open to everyone.
- You may need to wait for any ads to finish before proceeding.

Select the number of rounds you want to play. By default, the game is set to 3 rounds. Use the dropdown menu at the top of the page to choose the number of rounds you prefer.
- You can select anywhere from 2 to 10 rounds.

Choose the "Draw time in seconds". This determines how much time each player gets to draw. The default setting is 80 seconds.
- You can adjust this to anywhere between 30 and 180 seconds.

Change the language if you haven’t already. Select your default language or the one everyone will use during the game.

Enter custom words. Custom words are the terms you’ll draw when it’s your turn. Separate each word with a comma. You need to enter at least 4 words, each with a maximum of 30 characters.
- If you want to use only custom words, check the box below.

Click next to the link. This link appears when you hover over the white bar at the bottom. Click the yellow button to copy the link. You can then share it with friends to invite them to join.

Share the link with your friends. Simply paste the link into a message to invite them to join. You can share it via email, social media posts, web forums, or private messages. To paste the link, right-click and select Paste. A private room can accommodate up to 12 players.
- Your friends will be directed to the main lobby first. They need to enter their names and customize their avatars before joining the room. Once their avatars are set, they’ll be ready to play. After completing this, they can click the green Play button.
- If the link doesn’t take your friends to the private room, try right-clicking the link and selecting instead of using the button. If it still doesn’t work, you can manually type the link.

Click Start Game once everyone has joined. This step launches the game, allowing you to play as usual.
- The only difference is that you’ll wear a crown since you’re the room creator.
- At least one other player must be in the room to start the game.
