Looking for an easy way to share your WiFi password? This article will guide you through creating a QR code for your WiFi password and displaying it at home. Guests can use a QR code scanning app on their phones to quickly and conveniently connect to your WiFi.
Steps

Gather WiFi information. You'll need the network name (SSID), encryption method, and password.
- If you didn't set up the network yourself, you can find this information on the modem/router or in your internet service contract. If unsure, you can check the password on your computer or Mac. You also need to know if your password uses WPA, WPA2, or WEP security options. Contact your internet service provider's customer support for assistance.

Visit the website https://qifi.org/. This is a website for generating QR codes for WiFi passwords.
- There are other websites offering this service as well. You can explore http://www.qrstuff.com and http://www.zxing.appspot.com/generator.

Select the encryption method. From the dropdown menu next to "Encryption type," choose either "WPA/WPA2," "WEP," or "None."

Enter the network name. Input the network name into the "SSID" field at the top of the page.

Input the WiFi password. Use the next input box labeled "Key" to enter your WiFi password.

Click the blue Generate! button below the input fields. The QR code will appear at the bottom of the page.

Click Print!. This button is located above the QR code. This action will print the QR code on paper. Visitors can scan the QR code with their smartphones to connect to your WiFi.
- If you don't want to print the QR code immediately, click the Export! button to save the image file (PNG) to your computer and print it later.

Place the QR code where desired. Stick the QR code in a visible spot for trusted guests, excluding those you don't want accessing your home network. Visitors can use their smartphones to scan the QR code and connect to your WiFi.
- On an iPhone, users can open and hold the camera app in front of the QR code to scan it. A "WiFi QR Code" notification will appear. Tapping the notification will prompt them to join the WiFi network by selecting Join or Connect.
- Some Android phones can also use the camera app to scan QR codes. However, others may require a dedicated QR code scanning app, which can be downloaded from the Google Play Store.
