Use formatting options in Discord to increase text size
If you want to make your text bigger on Discord, whether for announcements or to emphasize a point, the header formatting code will help you achieve larger text. This works on both mobile and desktop platforms. Here's how to enlarge text on Discord using your iPhone, iPad, Android, or computer.
Using Enlarged Text on Discord
To make text bigger on Discord, just add # before your text, followed by a space. For example: # your text here. The text that follows will appear larger, like a header.

Using Headers for Larger Text
Go to a chat window. You can choose either a server or a Direct Message from the sidebar.
Type # before your text. Don’t forget to add a space after the code. This will format your text as a header (larger text).
- Your text will appear like: # example text.
Type your text and press ↵ Enter. On mobile, tap the send icon.
- Your message will be sent with the larger header text.
- If you wish to remove the message, right-click it or long-press on mobile. Then select Delete Message and confirm by tapping Delete.
Use ## to create a medium-sized header. This results in text that’s smaller than the largest header, but significantly larger than regular text.
Use ### to create a smaller header. This produces a header that’s slightly larger than the regular text size.
Use -# for a tiny header. Known as subtext, it’s perfect for adding brief captions to images or disclaimers in announcements.
Enclose your text with * to italicize it. For example, *text* will appear as text.
Wrap your text with ** to make it bold. For example, **text** will appear as text.
Use || to create spoiler text. Spoiler-warned text will remain hidden until the user clicks or taps to reveal it.
