If you've decided to delete your Instagram account—regardless of the reason—you might find it frustrating that the Instagram app doesn't provide specific instructions for this process. Fortunately, you can still delete your account through the app's Help Center option. After that, all you need to do is remove the app from your iPhone. Keep in mind that once your account is deleted, you won't be able to recover any of your data.
Steps
Delete Account

Tap the Instagram app to open it. You can delete Instagram using the "Help Center" option in the Settings menu.

Open your profile. You can navigate to your profile by tapping the person icon located at the bottom-right corner of the screen.

Tap the Settings gear icon. This icon is positioned at the top-right corner of the screen.

Select the "Help Center" option. This option is found within the "Support" section at the bottom of the Settings menu.

Tap on "Managing Your Account" at the top of the screen.

Click the "Delete Your Account" link. This will direct you to a support page with detailed information about account deletion.

Tap on "How do I delete my account?" (How can I delete my account?). You don't need to read the content of this page because Instagram will provide a link to the "delete account" function in the first section.

Tap the "Delete your account page" link. This link is located under the section "To permanently delete your account:" next to step one.
- You can also tap the "Temporarily disable your account" link on this page if you don't want to permanently delete your account. When disabled, your account won't appear in search results, but you can reactivate it anytime.

Enter your username and password. This step verifies the account you want to delete.
- Tap "Login" to proceed to the "Delete Your Account" page.

Tap the bar at the bottom of the page. This bar is located below the text "Why are you deleting your account?"; tapping it will prompt you to select a reason for account deletion.

Choose a reason for deleting your account, then tap "Done." This action will unlock the remaining options for account deletion.

Re-enter your password. You'll input your password near the bottom of the page, below the text "To continue...enter your password."

Tap "Permanently delete my account." This action will permanently delete your Instagram account and all associated content!
Uninstall the Instagram App

Press the Home button to exit the Instagram app.

Navigate to the location of the Instagram app on your phone. Depending on the number of apps on your phone, you may need to swipe right multiple times from the Home screen to find the Instagram app.

Tap and hold the Instagram app icon. This action prepares the app for deletion, causing the icon to shake and display an "X" in the top-left corner.

Tap the "X" icon. This indicates your intention to delete the Instagram app from your iPhone.

Tap "Delete" when prompted. The Instagram app and all its associated data will be removed!
Tips
- If you don't want the Instagram app on your phone but wish to keep your account, consider only uninstalling the app instead of deleting your account. Once your account is deleted, you won't be able to recover any of its content.
Warnings
- Deleting your Instagram account will permanently erase all your photos, videos, comments, and followers.
- You won't be able to reactivate your Instagram account after deletion.
