Today, Mytour will guide you through the steps to delete individual messages you've sent in a conversation on both the mobile and desktop versions of Skype. This process is different from deleting an entire Skype conversation. While you cannot delete messages received from others, removing messages you've sent ensures the recipient will no longer see that content.
Steps
On Mobile

Open Skype. The app features a blue icon with a white "S." The Skype home screen will appear if you're already logged in.
- If you're not logged in, enter your phone number (or email address) and password to sign in.

Tap on the Chats tab at the top of the screen.

Select the conversation. Tap on the conversation containing the message you wish to delete.

Navigate to the message you want to delete. You may need to scroll up if it's an older message.

Press and hold the message. After a few seconds, a menu will pop up.
Tap on Remove. This option is located near the bottom of the pop-up menu.
- On Android, you need to tap Remove message here.

Tap on Remove when prompted. The selected message will be deleted from the conversation, meaning neither you nor the other participants will be able to see it.
- On Android, you need to tap YES here.
On Desktop

Open Skype. Click on the blue icon with a white "S" to launch Skype. If your account details are saved, the Skype home screen will appear.
- If you're not logged in, enter your email address (or phone number) and Skype password to proceed.

Select the conversation. Click on the contact or conversation in the left-hand sidebar. The conversation will open.

Navigate to the message you want to delete. Scroll through the chat until you locate the message you wish to remove.
- Double-check to ensure the message was sent by you.

Right-click the message. A dropdown menu will appear after you right-click the message.
- On Mac, click the three-dot icon ⋮ located to the right of the message.

Click Remove near the bottom of the dropdown menu. The message will be deleted from the conversation, meaning neither you nor the other participants will be able to see it.
- If the Remove or Remove Message option is grayed out or unavailable, the selected message cannot be deleted.
On Web Version

Open the Skype Web website. Go to https://web.skype.com/ using a web browser on your computer. Your list of Skype conversations will open if you're already logged in.
- If you're not logged in, enter your email address and Microsoft account password to proceed.

Select the conversation. Find and click on the conversation containing the message you want to delete on the left side of the page.

Locate the message. Scroll up until you find the message you want to delete.

Right-click the message. A dropdown menu will appear.
- If your mouse doesn't have a right-click button, click on the right side of the mouse or use a two-finger click.
- If your computer uses a trackpad instead of a mouse, press down with two fingers or tap the bottom-right corner of the trackpad.

Click the Remove Message option in the dropdown menu. The message will be deleted from both your and the recipient's Skype conversation.
Tips
- If you receive unwanted messages from a Skype contact, you can delete or block them from your contact list.
Warning
- Once a message is deleted, the action cannot be undone, and the deleted message cannot be recovered.
- If you delete a message on a mobile device, it may still appear on the desktop version of Skype (and vice versa). In some cases, deleting a message on a mobile device may prevent you from deleting it on a computer.
