Firefox is a fast and free web browser that is widely used and offers great customization options. Today, Mytour will guide you through the process of installing Firefox on your PC, Mac, or Android device, as well as show you how to install custom add-ons.
Steps
Firefox for Windows

Visit the Mozilla website. The Download link, highlighted in green, will automatically detect your operating system and language.
- If you want to download Firefox in a different language or for a different operating system, click on the Systems & Language link right below the Download button.

Click the download button. The file will start downloading immediately. Once the download is complete, click on the file to begin the installation process. Windows may ask for confirmation before running the file.

Select installation type. The Standard installation is the automatic setup process, ideal for most users. It installs everything you need to start using Firefox right away. If you choose a custom installation, you will have the following options:
- Select installation location. Firefox will automatically choose the default location, but you can change it if you prefer.
- Enable maintenance service. This option allows Firefox to update automatically in the background. You may disable this if you want to manually install updates.
- Select where you want the Firefox icon to appear. You can choose Desktop, Start Menu, or Quick Launch bar.
- Decide whether you want to set Firefox as your default browser. This means all links you click will open in Firefox.

Launch Firefox. After a few minutes, Firefox will be installed and ready for you to start browsing. You can choose to launch the program immediately or open it later.

Import your settings. If you've used another browser before Firefox, you will have the option to import your Options, Bookmarks, History, and Passwords from your previous browser. This process may take a few minutes.
Firefox for Mac

Download Firefox. You can download it for free from the Mozilla website. The download link will automatically detect your operating system and language. If you'd like to download a different operating system or language version, click the Systems & Languages link below the Download button.

Open the DMG file. After the download is complete, the DMG file should open automatically. If not, click the file you just downloaded on your desktop to open it.

Install the application. Drag the Firefox.app file into the Applications folder. Hold the control key and click on the Firefox window. Select Eject 'Firefox'.

Add Firefox to the dock. If you'd like quick access to Firefox from the dock, drag the icon from the Applications folder and drop it onto the dock.

Launch Firefox. The system will warn that the program was downloaded. Confirm that you'd like to open it. Firefox will ask if you want to set it as your default browser. After making your choice, the browser will launch.
Install Add-ons

Understanding add-ons. Add-ons are applications you can add to Firefox to enhance its functionality. You can explore a library of free extensions directly within Firefox.

Open the Add-ons Manager. Click the Firefox menu at the top left of the window and select Add-ons, represented by a puzzle piece icon. The Add-ons Manager will open.

Find an add-on to install. The Add-ons Manager will display a selection of popular extensions. You can search for a specific add-on at the top right of the window. If you'd like to browse the full add-on catalog, click the link at the bottom right.

Install the add-on. After finding the desired add-on, click the green 'Add to Firefox' button. Firefox will prompt you for confirmation, and the add-on will be installed. You may need to restart Firefox to activate the newly installed extension.
Firefox for Android

Download Firefox. You can download the Firefox app from the Google Play Store or the Mozilla website.

Install the app. Tap the 'Install' button to begin the installation of Firefox. The installer will ask for permission to access certain features, such as your GPS location or the ability to write files to your SD card. Review and accept the permissions to continue.

Open the app. Once the installation is complete, you can open the app. Be sure to check the 'Allow automatic updating' box to ensure Firefox stays updated with the latest bug fixes.
Warning
- Avoid using outdated versions of Firefox and always install the latest version. Older versions are no longer supported and may have security vulnerabilities. Firefox will notify you when a new update is available.
