Today, Mytour will walk you through the steps to download Microsoft Excel to your computer, smartphone, or tablet. While Microsoft Excel for computers is included in the Microsoft Office suite, you can download Excel separately (for free) on iPhone or Android platforms. Note: You will need a Microsoft account to download and use Office 365 on your computer.
Steps
Using Office 365 on a Desktop

Purchase an Office 365 License. To download Microsoft Excel for permanent use, you need to buy an Office 365 license.
- If you want to try Office 365 without committing to a monthly subscription, you can download a free trial version.

Open the Office account page. Visit http://www.office.com/myaccount/ using a web browser on your computer. The Office subscription page will appear if you are logged in.
- If you are not logged in, enter your email address and password when prompted.

Click on Install > (Install). This orange button is located on the left side of the page.

Click the Install (Install) button. located on the right side of the page. After clicking, the Office 365 installation file will begin downloading.
- Depending on your browser settings, you may need to choose a save location or confirm the action before the installation file starts downloading.

Install Office 365. This step varies depending on your computer's operating system. First, double-click the Office installation file, then:
- Windows — Click Yes when prompted, then wait for Office to complete the installation. You will need to click Close when prompted to finish the installation process.
- Mac — Click Continue, then click Continue again, select Agree, click Continue once more, click Install, enter your Mac password, choose Install Software, and then click Close when prompted.



Use the trial version on a desktop

Open the free trial page for Office. Visit https://products.office.com/en-us/try using a web browser on your computer. You can use Excel for free for one month by downloading the Office 365 trial version.

Click on TRY 1-MONTH FREE (Try 1 month for free). This option is located on the left side of the page.

Log in to your Microsoft account when prompted. Enter your email address and password to sign in.
- If you have recently used your Microsoft account, you may be automatically logged in.

Click on Next (Next). This option is located near the bottom of the page.

Select a payment method. Click on Credit card or debit card to add card details, or choose another method (such as PayPal) from the "Pick a payment method" section.
- Although Microsoft does not bill for Office 365 immediately, you will be charged for one year of Office 365 usage after the one-month trial ends.

Enter payment information. Fill in the payment details for the method you selected. If you chose a card, provide the billing address, card number, expiration date, and so on.
- If you select a payment method other than a bank card, follow the on-screen instructions to add the required information.

Scroll down and click on Next at the bottom of the page. You will be redirected to the dashboard.
- If using a payment method other than a card, you may need to enter billing information and then click Next to proceed.

Click the Subscribe (Subscribe) button at the bottom of the page. You will be redirected to your account's "Office" page after this step.

Download and install Office 365 by:
- Clicking on Install > located on the left side of the page.
- Clicking on Install on the right side of the page.
- Double-clicking the downloaded Office 365 installation file.
- Following the on-screen installation instructions.

Cancel the trial before being charged. If you do not want to be billed for one year of Office 365 usage after the one-month trial ends, you can:
- Visit https://account.microsoft.com/services/ and log in if prompted.
- Scroll down and click on Payment & billing under the "Office 365" section.
- Click on Cancel on the right side of the page.
- Click on Confirm cancellation when asked.
On iPhone



Tap on Search (Search). This option has a magnifying glass icon and is located at the bottom-right corner of the screen.

Tap on the search bar at the top of the screen. The iPhone's virtual keyboard will appear.

Find Excel. Type excel and then tap on excel in the search results list. You will be directed to the Excel page.



Enter your Touch ID fingerprint. Scan your fingerprint to confirm the action. Microsoft Excel will begin downloading.
- If your iPhone does not support Touch ID (or if the App Store is not set up for Touch ID), you will need to enter your Apple ID password when prompted.
On Android



Tap on the search bar at the top of the screen. The Android virtual keyboard will appear.
- If the Google Play Store opens any tab other than the GAMES tab, you will first need to tap on GAMES near the top of the screen, then tap on the search bar.

Open the Excel page. Type excel and then tap on Microsoft Excel from the dropdown results menu (next to the white and green Excel icon). The Microsoft Excel page will open.

Tap on INSTALL (Install) at the top-right corner of the page. Microsoft Excel will begin downloading to your Android device.
- If prompted, tap on ACCEPT (Accept) to start the download.
Tips
- In addition to Microsoft Office, Google Docs or OpenOffice are free and suitable alternatives.
Warning
- Unfortunately, it is not possible to download Microsoft Excel independently on a computer.
