Photographers love Flickr for its dynamic social platform with a wide array of photo-sharing options. With its vast number of features, it can be a bit overwhelming to figure out how to complete even basic tasks like downloading photos. Fortunately, downloading images from Flickr is quite simple when you know a few helpful tricks. To do so, you'll need to use a computer, as the mobile app doesn't provide these features.
Steps
Download Photos from Your Photostream

Log into your Flickr account. Open the Flickr website in your web browser and log in using your username and password.

Choose the photos you want to download. The images will be available in two places:
- Click on “Camera Roll” to view all of your photos. When you click on an image, it will be added to the download queue at the bottom of the screen. To add more images to the queue, click “Select All” next to the date when the photos were added.
- If you're using Flickr albums to store your images and want to download an entire album, click on “Albums,” then select the album you'd like to download.

Click on “Download” at the bottom of the screen. The images you added to the queue will begin downloading. A different notification will appear depending on the number of images you selected:
- If you select a single image, the notification will say “Download 1 photo.” Click on the notification to choose the location on your computer where you'd like to save the file. The download will start.
- If you select multiple images (or the entire album), the notification will say “Download zip.” Click on the notification to create a single zip file, then choose the folder to save it in. After the download is complete, open the zip file.
- On Windows, double-click the zip file and click “Extract” to unzip the images.
- On Mac, users can double-click the zip file to extract the images to the current folder.
Download Photos from Someone Else's Photostream

Open the Flickr image you wish to download. Not all users allow their photos to be downloaded. If you see a downward arrow in the lower right corner of the photo, that means the image is available for download.

Click the downward arrow to view the available image size options. A short list of available sizes for download will appear. If you'd like to see more options, click “View all sizes.”
- Higher resolution means a larger image file.
- If no larger resolution is available, it could be because the image is originally small, or the owner has chosen not to share all available sizes.
