Today, Mytour will show you how to download subtitles that come with YouTube videos. You can use a free program called 4K Video Downloader to download YouTube videos with embedded subtitles or separate subtitle files. Keep in mind that the YouTube video you want to download must have subtitles enabled.
Steps

Download the 4K Video Downloader installation file. Visit https://www.4kdownload.com/products/product-videodownloader using your computer's web browser, then click the Get 4K Video Downloader button on the left side of the page. The download will start automatically.
- 4K Video Downloader is a desktop YouTube video downloader with the option to embed subtitles when needed.

Install 4K Video Downloader. The process varies depending on whether you're using a Mac or Windows computer:
- On Windows — Double-click the setup file, click Yes when prompted, and follow the on-screen installation instructions.
- On Mac — Double-click the setup file, confirm the installation if required, click and drag the 4K Video Downloader app icon into the "Applications" folder, and follow the on-screen instructions.

Access a YouTube video with subtitles. To download subtitles for a YouTube video, the video must already have subtitles enabled; you can check if your chosen video has subtitles by looking for the CC icon at the bottom of the video player.

the YouTube video URL. Highlight the video's URL in the browser's address bar, then press Ctrl+C (Windows) or ⌘ Command+C (Mac).

Open 4K Video Downloader. Click or double-click the 4K Video Downloader app icon, which features a white cloud on a light blue background.

Click on Preferences (Settings) at the top right of the window.
- If you want to download the subtitle file separately, skip this step and the next two.

Check the box labeled "Embed subtitles in video if possible." The associated subtitle file will be embedded directly into the video.

Close the Preferences window. Click the X in the top-right corner to exit.

Click on Paste Link in the top-left corner of the window. 4K Video Downloader will locate the link you copied and begin processing the video.

Select the quality. Check the box next to the video quality you prefer.
- You can also choose a different format from the default by clicking the "Format" dropdown menu and selecting your desired format.

Click the "Download Subtitles" dropdown. This option is located at the bottom-right corner of the window. A dropdown menu will appear.

Choose the language. Click on the language you want for the subtitle file.

Click on Download. This option is located at the bottom-right corner of the window. Your video will begin downloading.

Watch the video. Once the download is complete, you can locate the file by clicking on the video and selecting Show in Folder.
- Double-click the video to play it using your computer's default video player.
- If you chose to embed subtitles, enable the subtitle track in your video player first.
- If you downloaded subtitles separately, the subtitle file (in SRT format) will appear in the same folder as the video.
Tips
- If the YouTube video doesn't have subtitles, you can still add subtitles manually.
Warnings
- Some video players may require you to select the subtitle track from the "Audio" or "Subtitles" menu to display subtitles.
