Using Torrents

Download the torrent. Torrenting is a method of sharing files between computers. You can download any program or music using torrents. However, downloading The Sims 3 this way is illegal, so you should only consider this method if the Sims disc you purchased is damaged.
- Some popular torrent programs include uTorrent, Vuze, and BitTorrent.

Find the Sims 3 torrent file. To download a torrent file, you’ll first need to find a torrent tracker. Public torrent trackers often provide comprehensive updates for popular games, so you should have no trouble finding the game you’re looking for through a Google search. Simply type "Sims 3 Torrent" into Google’s search bar, and you’ll get many results.
- When browsing a torrent tracker website, you’ll see columns for Seeders (S) and Leechers (L). The more seeders there are, the stronger the connection, and the faster the file will download. If there are more leechers than seeders, the download will take significantly longer.
- Check the comments about the torrent file. This will help you determine whether the torrent contains any harmful viruses, as torrents are a common way for viruses to spread on computers.

Wait for the torrent file to finish downloading. After you’ve located the torrent file you need, click on the download link to open the file in your torrent client. After a few seconds of connecting with other torrent users, the download will begin. Depending on your internet connection speed and the state of the torrent file, the download may be fast or slow.
- The Sims 3 download size is approximately 5 GB.

Install the game. Games downloaded via torrents are typically installed differently from those purchased through legitimate means. Be sure to check the README file that is often included with the torrent for specific instructions on how to crack and install the game.
- Cracking the game allows you to play without needing to enter a CD key. If you have not purchased a legitimate game disc and are using this method to play for free, it is illegal. You should only use this method if you’ve purchased the game but the disc is damaged or if you’ve lost the CD key.
- Many games are available in ISO file format, which creates a virtual drive on your computer for installation. To use these files, you must either create a virtual drive or burn the file to a physical disk.
Warning
- If you have never purchased an official copy of The Sims 3, downloading the game through torrents is illegal.
