Torrent, in simple terms, refers to files shared between peer-to-peer computers, without the use of a central server. These files are transferred from the distributor (seeder) to the client requesting the file (leecher or peer). You can download µTorrent and use it to grab movies, music, or games you want. Note: uploading (seeding) copyrighted material is illegal in many countries.
Steps

Download µTorrent from www.utorrent.com. There are different versions of µTorrent for various platforms, so make sure to download the one specifically for Mac. Afterward, select a location to save the downloaded file, like your desktop or downloads folder.
- Once the download is complete, double-click on the uTorrent.dmg file to extract the program.
- Drag µTorrent into the "Applications" folder.

Open µTorrent by double-clicking the program icon. The program will launch, but you'll need to search for the torrent file of the data you want to download from the internet.
- During installation, µTorrent may attempt to install unnecessary programs, including toolbars. If you find these unnecessary, read the fine print and only check the boxes for the programs you want.

Visit a trusted torrent site and search. Enter the name of the content you want to download in the search bar. Be specific in your search to avoid random results.
- For example, if you search just "WWE", you'll get many results, which may not be relevant. Instead, use more specific keywords like "WWE Wrestlemania 29 New York/New Jersey Full Event" to find the torrent you need.
- If you're unsure about which torrent site to use, try searching for the movie/game/music/book you want to download, and add the keyword "torrent". You can also add the keyword "mac" to narrow your search.

Browse the available torrents list. Review the first few entries in the list and choose a torrent based on size (larger files generally have better quality but take longer to download) and the type of file you need (avi, mkv, mp4, etc.).
- If you're unsure, choose a torrent with the highest number of seeds.
- Click on the file and check the comments. Look for feedback indicating that the torrent works, is the correct file, and has good quality. If there are no comments or very few, avoid downloading it.

Download the torrent. Click on the small magnet icon or the "Get this Torrent" link. Be sure not to click on "download direct", "download", or "magnet download" links, as they may lead to pop-ups and malicious redirects.
- While downloading the torrent, you'll begin to seed parts of the file you've downloaded.
- Even once the download is complete, µTorrent will continue uploading the file to other users in the BitTorrent network. The upload process will stop only when you remove the file from µTorrent or close the program.

Wait for the torrent to finish downloading. µTorrent will automatically open the file/link, or you'll be prompted to open it with a program and set µTorrent as the default. A second window will open, and you can click the "OK" button at the bottom-right corner.
- The download time will depend on the file size and the number of "seeders" (those sharing the file).
- The more seeders, the faster the file will download, as the torrent can fetch parts of the file from multiple sources.

Click on the "Completed" tab to locate the file once downloaded. You can open the file by right-clicking and selecting "Show in Finder", or by clicking the magnifying glass icon.
- If you downloaded a movie, right-click the file, select "Open With", and choose your preferred media player.
Tips
- Make sure the torrent is uploaded by a trusted provider. A reliable username is often accompanied by a purple or green skull icon.
- Always check the number of seeders and leechers on the torrent. More seeders generally means faster download speeds, while more leechers will slow down the process.
Warning
- Uploading (or seeding) copyrighted material is illegal in many countries.
