This guide will walk you through how to update your TikTok profile on Android, iPhone, or iPad. TikTok offers various options to personalize your profile, such as adding a display name, profile picture, a 6-second profile video, and connecting to other social media platforms.
Steps

Tap on Edit profile (Edit Profile). This is a large red button located in the middle of your screen.

Upload a Profile Picture. This will be your avatar displayed on TikTok. To select or take a new photo, follow these steps:
- Tap Profile Photo (Change Photo) at the top.
- Tap Take a Photo to use your camera and take a new picture, or tap Select from Photos/Camera Roll to choose a picture from your device.
- Grant TikTok permission to access your photos and/or camera if you haven't done so yet.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to crop and save your photo.

Add a Profile Video instead of a photo (optional). If you feel that a static image doesn't fully represent your personality on TikTok, you can create a 6-second profile video. When other TikTok users like your profile video, they may follow you for more updates. Here's how to create your video:
- Tap on Profile Video (Tap to create a new video) at the bottom of the page.
- Grant TikTok access to your photos if you haven't already.
- Select a video from your phone or tablet.
- Use the sliders on both sides to choose the 6 seconds of video you want.
- Tap Done to save your new video.

Tap on Name to Edit Your Name. Your display name is the first line at the top of the page. After updating your name, tap Save in the top right corner of the page.

Tap on TikTok ID to Change It. Your TikTok ID is located on the second line near the profile icon. You can only change your TikTok ID once every 30 days. Don't forget to tap Save in the top right corner to save your changes.
- If the username you entered is already taken, you'll be prompted to choose another one.
Note: If the username or ID field is greyed out or you can't select it, this means you have recently changed your username.

Edit Your Bio. Tap on your current bio, or tap No bio yet (Add a bio to your profile) if you haven't written one yet, and then write a bio about yourself. After you're done, tap Save in the top right corner to save your changes.
- Try writing a bio that attracts friends and followers, but avoid overloading it with too much text or advertising other websites.
Tap on Instagram to link your Instagram account. By tapping this option, you'll log into Instagram and grant TikTok access to your account. Once linked, your Instagram username will appear on your TikTok profile.

Tap on YouTube to link your YouTube channel. If you have a YouTube account, follow the on-screen instructions to log in and link it to your TikTok profile. Your YouTube channel will then be displayed on your TikTok profile.

Tap on Twitter to link your Twitter account. If you have a Twitter account, you can link it to TikTok. Please note, you will need the Asian version of TikTok for this feature. You can download the Asian version on Android via this link or switch your Apple ID region to download it for iOS.

Tap on Save to save your changes. This button is located at the top right corner of the screen. Tap it to save the updates you’ve made to your profile.
