Acne is a frustrating skin condition that can spread easily; almost everyone has faced this issue. Unfortunately, acne often appears at the most inconvenient times, such as before a party, presentation, or wedding. If you want to clear up your acne quickly, try one of the following solutions.
Steps
Topical acne treatment method - don't wash off after use

Apply lemon juice. This remedy works effectively for several reasons; lemon juice is a natural astringent, which helps tighten pores. It contains acids that kill bacteria within the pores and its natural skin-brightening ability helps reduce redness from acne. Apply lemon juice directly to the acne and leave it until your next face wash.

Use tea tree oil. Tea tree oil has long been used by dermatologists to reduce skin irritation and acne. Take a small amount of pure tea tree oil and apply it directly to the acne. Do this after washing your face twice daily for the best results.
Use lavender oil. Not all essential oils are just for diffusing; lavender oil is also highly effective for treating acne. Apply one drop of the oil to the acne and allow it to absorb into the skin. You can repeat this throughout the day, but it’s most effective when applied directly after washing your face in the morning and at night.

Apply basil tea. Brew a cup of basil tea to apply to your face instead of drinking it. Place a few basil leaves into a cup of hot water and let them steep for several minutes. Cool the tea in the refrigerator before applying it to your face. Use the tea to apply to acne or use a cotton ball to apply it all over your face if you have oily skin.

Apply witch hazel products. Witch hazel is a natural astringent often used to heal wounds. When applied to acne, it helps tighten pores and kill bacteria. Use this product on the acne or apply it all over your face with a cotton ball.

Apply apple cider vinegar. Apple cider vinegar is also an astringent that can help treat acne and tighten pores. Use it as a toner or apply it directly to acne. It is safe to use multiple times throughout the day.

Apply ice cubes to your face. Ice cubes quickly tighten pores, reducing swelling and redness caused by acne. Gently press ice cubes onto the acne to improve the condition and soothe the discomfort or pain caused by acne. For better results, freeze green tea into ice cubes. It helps tighten and cleanse the pores.
Use benzoyl peroxide. Benzoyl peroxide effectively kills bacteria on the skin without causing any pain. Choose an acne treatment product with benzoyl peroxide and apply it directly onto the acne.
Use salicylic acid. This is a key ingredient in most acne treatments and is particularly effective. Salicylic acid is a safe acid that helps clear dirt from the pores. Choose an acne treatment containing this ingredient, and your acne will disappear faster than you can spell “salicylic.”
Use ingredients commonly found in the kitchen
Create a honey mask. As a natural antibacterial agent, honey is highly effective in cleaning pores, removing excess oil, and exfoliating. Apply honey to your entire face and leave it on until ready to rinse off. Additionally, apply honey directly to the acne and cover it with a bandage before going to bed. When you wake up in the morning, the acne will have reduced in size and redness.

Apply a tomato mask. Sounds a bit strange, right? But tomatoes can actually help clear acne on the skin. Blend tomatoes into a thick, pulpy mixture. Apply this to your entire face and let it absorb into the skin. Wash your face after 20-30 minutes.

Rub potato on your face. It may sound like a joke, but potatoes help absorb oil and cleanse dirt from the pores. Slice a potato horizontally to create a piece large enough to rub on your face. After 1 or 2 minutes, wash your face with warm water.

Try using strawberries. You can be eco-friendly by using the entire strawberry – eat the fruit and use the stem for your face. Strawberries help reduce acne and fight bacteria. Rub the stem on the acne-prone areas, leaving it on for a minute. Then, rinse your face with cold water.

Mash some garlic. Garlic has a strong odor, but it’s one of the best natural methods for acne treatment. Its natural antibacterial properties help cleanse bacteria on the skin. Crush a garlic clove and apply it to the acne for 20 minutes. Afterward, rinse with cold water and you’ll be amazed at the quick transformation of your skin. However, be aware that this method can cause pain and a burning sensation over the next few days, and may lead to eye irritation, swelling, and redness of the skin.

Create a mint leaf mask. Mint is not only fragrant and tasty but also a fantastic ingredient for the skin. Crush a few mint leaves. Then, apply the mixture to your entire face and let it sit for 15-20 minutes. Mint will soothe, cool the skin, and help clear the pores. Wash your face with cold water when done.

Apply an egg white mask. If you’ve ever applied egg white to your skin, you’ll feel the tightening effect it provides. Apply some egg white to your acne and leave it overnight. In the morning, your pores will be tighter and the acne will have reduced. Rinse your face with warm water.
Use various face masks

Apply aloe vera. The reason aloe vera gel is used for sunburned skin is that it soothes, reduces pain, and fights inflammation. Do the same for acne by applying a small amount of fresh aloe vera (or pure aloe vera product) to the skin. Leave it on as long as possible or overnight, then rinse off with cold water.

Make a baking soda paste. If you’ve ever used baking soda to clean, you might wonder how it can also kill bacteria and brighten surfaces. Mix baking soda with just enough water to create a thick paste and apply it to the acne. Let it dry and flake off after about 20-30 minutes. Rinse with warm water (gently scrub to take advantage of the exfoliating power of baking soda).
Apply a clay mask. Clay is a natural product that helps dry out the skin, absorbing the oils that cause acne. Make your own clay mask with cosmetic clay powder and water or purchase a ready-made product from the store. You can apply it directly to acne or cover your whole face. Let the clay dry (about 20-30 minutes) before rinsing it off with warm water.
Use toothpaste. Toothpaste not only brightens your smile but can also be highly effective for your skin. The chemicals in toothpaste help dry out pimples, while the whitening agents reduce redness. Apply a small amount of white toothpaste (not gel) to the blemish and leave it overnight. Rinse it off after a few hours or in the morning.

Use Listerine. Listerine works similarly to toothpaste. Pour a bit of Listerine onto a cotton ball and apply directly to the pimples. Let it sit for a while, then wash it off with warm water. You'll feel your skin tighten and smooth out immediately after.

Make an aspirin mask. Aspirin works as both an anti-inflammatory and pain reliever. To harness its power for your skin, turn the tablets into a mask. Crush 1-2 tablets, add a bit of water, and apply the paste to the pimples. Let it dry, then rinse off with warm water after a few hours or overnight.
Tips
- Drink plenty of water! It helps detoxify your body.
- Don't wear makeup when going to sleep. It will only worsen acne.
- Always wash your face twice daily to maintain cleanliness.
- Eat more fruits and vegetables, as a deficiency in vitamins, especially Vitamin A, is a major acne trigger.
- Moisturizing at night is crucial, even if you have oily skin.
- Avoid touching your face. If you have bangs, wash your hair frequently and tie it up at night so it doesn't touch your skin, or pin it back. Drink plenty of water, it should be the first and last thing you consume each day.
- Avoid toothpaste with fluoride, as it can leave scars.
- Use warm water when washing your face to open pores. Afterward, splash some cold water to close them.
- If you're using an aspirin mask, don't overdo it. Using it too often can reduce its anti-inflammatory benefits, as your skin gets used to it.
- Don't use two products at once to avoid allergic reactions.
- Try to avoid touching your face to prevent bacterial transfer. Wash your hands before washing your face to avoid spreading germs.
- Toothpaste is effective at clearing pimples.
- Make sure to eat plenty of tomatoes!
