Today, Mytour will show you how to activate adult content and NSFW (Not Safe for Work) material on Reddit.com. While the mobile app doesn’t offer a direct option to turn on adult content, any changes you make on the web browser will sync across to the mobile version. Due to restrictions from Google and the Apple Store, some NSFW content may still be inaccessible on the mobile app, even after adjusting the settings.
Steps to Follow
Use Reddit.com on a Computer
Access https://www.reddit.com via your web browser. If you’re not logged into your Reddit account, click the LOG IN button at the top of the page to sign in right away.
- This method is for Reddit users (redditors) who have not switched to the old Reddit design. If you’ve already reverted to the old interface or haven’t chosen to redesign, please refer to this method.
Click on your Reddit username at the top-right corner of the page. A menu will expand.
Click on User Settings (User Settings). This option appears at the top of the menu.
Click on Feed Settings (Feed Settings). This is one of the tabs at the top of the page.
- Due to Apple App Store and Google Play Store regulations, some NSFW content may be blurred in search results (even after changing settings).
Click on SAVE (Save). This blue button is located at the bottom of the page. Your settings will be saved, and Reddit will begin displaying NSFW content on your feed.
- If you are using the Reddit app on Android, iPhone, or iPad, you may need to close and reopen the app for the changes to take effect.
- If you still cannot view NSFW content in the mobile app, try accessing Reddit.com via your usual browser on your Android or iOS device.
Using the Mobile Reddit Site
Open a web browser on your phone or tablet. You can log into Reddit using any browser on iPhone, iPad, or Android device.
Navigate to https://www.reddit.com. This will redirect you to the mobile version of Reddit.
Tap the button with the icon ☰ located at the top-right corner of the page.
Click on Log in / sign up at the top of the menu.
- If you are already logged in, proceed to step 7.
Enter your login credentials and click LOG IN. This will log you into your Reddit account and return you to the mobile site.
Tap the ☰ button again. The dropdown menu will reappear.
- If prompted to install the Reddit app, just tap the mobile site link at the bottom of the screen.
Click on Settings in the dropdown menu. This will open the traditional Reddit login page.
Log in again. Since you were redirected to a different page, you will need to re-enter your username and password. Fill out the fields on the right side of the screen, then click LOG IN.
- If you want Reddit to remember your login details, check the "remember me" box below the "password" field before clicking LOG IN.
Uncheck the “NSFW Content” option. This setting is located below the “media” section at the top of the page. As long as this box is unchecked, adult content will appear in your Reddit feed and search results. However, you may still adjust additional settings.
Scroll down to the section titled "content options" near the bottom of the page.
Enable NSFW content. Check the following boxes under "content options":
- “I am over eighteen years old and willing to view adult content”
- “Include not safe for work (NSFW) search results in searches”
- If you want adult/NSFW posts to be labeled as “NSFW” in your feed or search results, check the box next to “label posts that are not safe for work (NSFW)”
Scroll down and click the save options button at the bottom of the page. NSFW content will now be enabled for your Reddit account.
Click the Reddit icon in the top left corner of the page. You will be redirected to the Reddit homepage where you can search and view NSFW content without any restrictions.
Use the old version of reddit.com.

Visit https://www.reddit.com on your web browser. If you are not signed into Reddit, click the LOG IN button at the top to log in immediately.
- This method is for Reddit users who prefer not to manually redesign Reddit.

Click on the preferences (customization). This option is located at the top right corner of the page, just to the left of the “logout” link.

Uncheck the “NSFW Content” box. This option is located under the “media” section at the top of the page. As long as this box remains unchecked, adult content will appear in the feed and search results. However, you can adjust other settings if needed.

Scroll down to the “content options” section near the bottom of the page.

Tick the box next to “I am over eighteen years old and willing to view adult content.” This is the first option in the section. It indicates to Reddit that you are old enough to view NSFW content and are comfortable seeing it in your feed.
- If you'd like adult/NSFW posts to be marked as “NSFW” in the feed or search results, tick the box next to “label posts that are not safe for work (NSFW).”

Tick the box next to “include not safe for work (NSFW) search results in searches.” This ensures that NSFW content will show up in your search results.
- Due to Apple App Store and Google Play Store rules, some NSFW content may be blurred in search results even after adjusting your settings.

Scroll down and click the save options button. This gray button is located near the bottom-left corner of the page. Your Reddit settings will be updated, and you will see NSFW content throughout the website.
- If you use the Reddit app on Android, iPhone, or iPad, you may need to close and reopen the app for the settings to take effect.
- If you still cannot view NSFW content on the mobile app, visit Reddit.com through your preferred web browser on your Android or iOS device.
Advice
- Reddit blocks certain NSFW content from displaying on mobile apps. This is due to restrictions from both the iOS App Store and Google Play Store, which limit the type of content the app can display.
