Exfoliating dead skin cells can improve dry lips, making them soft and supple. By regularly exfoliating, dry lips can become plump and hydrated. If you want beautiful, flawless lips, follow these steps below!
Steps
Use a Toothbrush

Take an old toothbrush (preferably one with straight and very soft bristles) and apply a little bit of Petroleum Jelly onto the brush.

Gently brush your lips in circular motions using the toothbrush.

Let the Petroleum Jelly moisturize your lips.
Apply Sugar to Your Lips

Mix a little olive oil with some sugar in a small bowl. Experiment with the proportions of oil and sugar to get a smooth and thick mixture.

Gently apply the mixture to your lips with a washcloth, massaging in circular motions. The longer you apply the mixture, the more dead skin cells will be exfoliated from your lips.

Rinse the mixture gently with warm water (cup your hands). Since all the ingredients mentioned above are non-toxic, it's okay if you accidentally swallow a small amount during the process.

Moisturize your freshly exfoliated lips with your favorite lip balm. Your lips should always stay smooth and soft.
Use Baking Soda Powder

Take some baking soda and mix it with water to create the necessary paste.

Use an old toothbrush (with soft, straight bristles) or a washcloth to gently rub the mixture on your lips in circular motions.

Gently wipe your lips.

Keep in mind that baking soda and water do not provide moisture for your lips. Therefore, after wiping, you should apply a moisturizing lip balm.
Apply Honey and Sugar Mixture

Mix sugar and honey (with more honey than sugar), then apply in circular motions and wait for a few minutes.

Wash off and gently rub with a towel.
- You can leave it overnight while sleeping, but remember to place a small piece of tissue on your lips gently and keep your head straight. This method is ideal for those who sleep on their back. In the morning, remove the tissue and rinse clean.
Tips
- Moisturize your lips regularly to keep them smooth and soft.
- Avoid licking your lips. It only makes the situation worse.
- Care for your lips with moisturizing lip balms to prevent cracking or use Petroleum Jelly after exfoliating.
- You can replace olive oil with coconut oil.
- Apply lip balm whenever you feel the urge to lick your lips.
- Olive oil can also be used instead of a moisturizer and it will be great for your hair!
- If you try the first method, do it over the sink as sugar might fall out.
- Adding cinnamon to any of the above mixtures could help plump your lips naturally. However, be cautious as cinnamon can cause irritation, itching, or cracking.
Warning
- Be gentle when caring for your lips. If you scrub too harshly or for too long, your lips could crack and become sore.
