Unfortunately, there is no direct way to search for YouTube videos by date using the website or app. Instead, you need to use Google Search on a computer and apply a custom date range filter. YouTube's search filters only limit results to videos uploaded within the last hour, today, this week, this month, or this year. However, by using Google, you can specify a custom date range to find videos dating back to 2009.
Steps
How to Find YouTube Videos on Google?
Visit https://google.com using a web browser on a Windows or Mac computer. Unfortunately, the mobile version of this search tool offers similar filters to the YouTube app, so you’ll need to use a web browser on a Mac or Windows computer.
Enter your search term into the search bar. The search bar is located in the center of the screen, allowing you to look up YouTube videos.
- For example, you can type "7 Nụ Cười Xuân" to find all Google results related to the keyword "7 Nụ Cười Xuân".
Click on Videos. This option is located below the search bar at the top of the page. This will filter the results to show only videos.
Click on Tools. This option is located below and to the right of the search bar. A dropdown menu will appear.
Click on the dropdown menu labeled "Any source" and select youtube.com. Now, you will only see video results from YouTube.
Click on the dropdown menu labeled "Any time" and select Custom range. A calendar will appear in a pop-up window.
Select the date range. Use the calendar on the right side of the window to choose the From and To dates to set the range.
- Alternatively, you can bypass the calendar and directly enter the dates in the "mm/dd/yyyy" (month/day/year) format.
Click on Go. After entering the date range, YouTube videos matching the keyword and uploaded within that period will appear.
- For example, when searching Google for "7 Nụ Cười Xuân" and filtering by the range from 02/22/2020 to 12/22/2021, videos uploaded during this period by the YouTube channel ĐÔNG TÂY PROMOTION OFFICIAL, as well as other videos mentioning the keyword, will be displayed.
How to Search for Videos by Date on YouTube?
Visit https://youtube.com or open the YouTube mobile app. You can use a computer (Windows or Mac), iPhone, iPad, or Android device to search on YouTube; however, these filters are not as customizable as Google's.
Enter your keyword into the search bar and press ↵ Enter (Windows) or ⏎ Return (Mac). The search bar is located at the top center of the page, where you can input your keyword and initiate the search.
- If you're using the mobile app, tap the search bar at the top of the screen, enter your keyword, and press the Go button or the magnifying glass icon on the virtual keyboard.
Click on Filters (computer) or tap the ⋮ icon and select Filters (mobile). A list of filters you can apply to the search results will appear.
Select "Upload Date". On both the desktop website and mobile app, the results will be filtered by the last hour, today, this week, this month, or this year, depending on the range you choose.
