Learn about the copyright-free music page on digccMixter. Before you begin searching or filtering songs and music on digccMixter, take some time to explore this page to get all the necessary information through the article Explore the Copyright-Free Music Page on ccMixter. Note: digccMixter is a sub-site of a larger site called ccMixter.

On the digccMixter page, use its search tool to look for music. Alternatively, you can search by selecting and filtering from available categories such as: (1) by genre; (2) by instrument; and (3) by style. You can also filter by license and other criteria. Below, we will detail these methods for you.

Filter Songs

Filtering songs is a general process. The filter function is the same for all four main categories on digccMixter, which include: (1) Music for film; (2) Music for games; (3) Free for commercial use; and (4) $ royalty-free license. The latter requires purchasing a license to remove restrictions. For simplicity, let's use the first category, Music for film, as an example for song filtering. Filtering songs in other categories follows the same method.

Whenever you want to reset the values of these filters to their default settings, simply click the yellow reset button below. You can apply the same action to other filters like: (1) the time filter; and (2) the instrumental only filter.

Search Combined with Song Filtering

You can search and filter songs simultaneously on digccMixter. The best way to do this is to start with the search tool provided on digccMixter.

Receive Results. You will get a list of songs that match your search criteria. From this list, you can apply different filters to narrow down the results and quickly find the track you're looking for.

To verify whether the three filtered results are indeed eligible for commercial use, click on the yellow download button next to each entry. In this case, you will see that all three have the CC BY 3.0 license, confirming they are indeed permitted for commercial use.

General Principles. On digccMixter, wherever songs and/or music are listed, you have the option to listen and download the track you choose. For instance, the track you select might be Ethereal Space by the artist group snowflake.

Preview the selected track. Press the blue Play button at the beginning of the track's name to listen to a preview. You'll notice that the Play button will change to Pause once it's playing. At the bottom of your screen, you'll see a controller, similar to what you would find in any music player or TV system.
