Mytour will guide you through the process of finding friends on TikTok. If you know their username, you can search for them or scan their QR code. If you want to find all of your friends, you can add them through your Facebook friend list or iPhone contacts.
Steps
Search for Username
Launch TikTok on your iPhone or iPad. The app has a white music note icon on a black background.
Click on the magnifying glass icon located at the bottom left. The search screen will appear.
Enter your friend's display name or username, then press the Search (Search) key on the keyboard.
- If you can’t remember the exact name, you can search through your contacts or Facebook friends list.
View the results. If you accidentally click on another tab ("Sounds" or "Hashtags"), click back on Users.
Find the user you want to follow.
Click the Follow button. The pink Follow button will turn gray with the word Following.
Scan QR Code
Ask your friend to provide their QR code.
- For this, they need to open their app and tap the user icon at the bottom right.
- Then, tap the QR code icon at the top right, next to the three vertical dots.
- Wait for the code to appear. If they wish, they can save the code to their phone by tapping "Save image".
Tap the magnifying glass icon at the bottom left of your phone. The search screen will appear.
Tap the scanner icon at the top right, next to the search bar.
Scan the QR code on your friend's screen. Make sure the code is centered within the frame on your screen.
Click the Follow button next to the displayed username.
Search in iPhone or iPad contacts
Open TikTok on your iPhone or iPad. The app has a white music note icon on a black background.
Tap the profile icon at the bottom right of the screen.
Tap the person icon with a "+" sign. This button is located in the top left corner of the screen.
Click on the Find Contacts Friends button (Find friends in contacts). This button is located near the top-left corner of the screen. A list of contacts with TikTok accounts from your iPhone or iPad will appear.
- You may need to tap OK to allow the app to scan your contacts.
Tap the Follow button next to the contact you wish to follow.
Find Facebook friends
Open TikTok on your iPhone or iPad. The app has a white music note icon on a black background.
Tap the profile icon at the bottom right of the screen.
Click on the icon of the person with the "+" sign. This button is located at the top-left corner of the screen.
Click on Find Facebook Friends (Search for Facebook friends). This dark blue button is positioned at the top-right corner of the screen. A warning message will appear, notifying you that TikTok is asking you to log in to Facebook.
Click on Continue (Proceed). The Facebook login screen will appear.
Log in to your Facebook account. A list of your Facebook friends who also have TikTok accounts will be displayed.
- If prompted, you will need to grant TikTok permission to access your Facebook account.
Click on the icon Follow next to the name of the user you want to add.
