If you're looking for images that are licensed for reuse across various sizes, aspect ratios, colors, types, and formats—anywhere, even with the safety search feature for family-friendly content—Google's Advanced Image Search can help you with that.
Steps
Introducing the tool
Access the tool. To use the advanced image search tool from Google, visit: https://www.google.com/advanced_image_search.
Components.Find images with… - Search for images with …: This is where you'll enter your search terms to find the images you want. Identify the source, check the license for each image, and download it

Determine the source of the selected image. In the result screens for all cases above, if you like an image, right-click on it and open it in a new browser tab. You will be redirected to corresponding new screens, where you can identify the source of the selected image. This is the same for all four cases mentioned above, although this example specifically shows case 4, where the source of the image selected is Pixabay, indicated by a red arrow. You can also view specific examples of how to identify the source of the selected image, as detailed in the article Finding Open License Images using Google's Image Tool.

Check the license and download the selected image. Click the link on the Pixabay word to open the selected image in a new screen, where you can review the image's license before downloading it. Cases 1, 2, and 3 follow the same process when verifying the license, even if the source is not Pixabay. If the selected image is openly licensed as desired, you can proceed to download it. You can also explore examples of checking the license and downloading selected images, as explained in the article Finding Open License Images using Google's Image Tool.
- Case 4: Check the transparency feature, license, and download. For case 4, you must also verify the transparency feature of the selected image. On this final screen, where you can verify the image's license (for example, in case 4, it's CC0), you will also clearly notice that the resulting image has a transparent feature due to its background. Click on the Free Download link to download the image to your computer. You can also view examples of checking the license and downloading selected images, as detailed in the article Finding Open License Images using Google's Image Tool.
Tip
- With Google's Advanced Image Search, you can search for any image, whether in Vietnamese or English. However, most websites containing images do not support this feature and do not work with Vietnamese, so you'll need to enter search terms, mostly in English.
- There are also many other websites and search methods to download openly licensed and/or publicly available images on the Internet, which you can freely use without fear of violating anyone's copyright.
