Today, Mytour will guide you on how to check an SSID (Service Set Identifier) – simply put, the name of the network your computer is connected to. If you're connected to a wireless network, the SSID represents the Wi-Fi network name. To view the SSID of your current network, simply open your Wi-Fi settings and look at the network name.
Steps
On Windows

- You may first need to click the ^ button to find the Wi-Fi icon.
- If you see an "x" next to the Wi-Fi icon, click on it and then select Wi-Fi Off (Wi-Fi is turned off) to enable it again.

Check your current network name. The network you are connected to will appear at the top of the window. You will see the status "Connected" just below your network name.

Browse other available SSIDs. A list of networks will appear in a pop-up window; each name in this list corresponds to an SSID of a specific network.
On Mac

Turn on Wi-Fi
Look at the network name. The network name with a ✓ next to it is the SSID of your current network.

Browse through other available SSIDs. Any network name you see here is the SSID of another network nearby.
Tip
- To view the factory-set SSID of a network, look for the "Network Name" or "SSID" listed on the underside of the router.
Warning
- You cannot view the factory-set SSID of another network through your computer; it can only be seen visually on the router itself.
