Today, Mytour will guide you on how to locate the product key for your Microsoft Office version.
Steps
Microsoft Office 365, 2016, 2013, and 2011

Search through personal emails and documents. Newer Office versions may not store the full 25-character product key in a computer-readable format. The best way to retrieve the product key is to check your electronic receipt (if purchased online) or the product packaging (if bought from a store).
- If your computer came with a pre-installed Office version, the key might be printed on a 3D sticker somewhere on the device.
- If you have the original disk or packaging, look for a sticker or card containing the code.
- If you purchased the software from the Microsoft Store, check your email for the receipt. The product key will be included in the receipt.

Check with the online store. If you can't locate your receipt, you can still find the code by logging into your account on the store.
- If you purchased the software from the Microsoft Store, follow these steps:
- Log in to your account at https://www.microsoftstore.com.
- Click on Order History.
- Select your order.
- Click on Install Office.
- Click on Hi. Let’s get your Office to display the product key.
- If you bought Office through Microsoft HUP at your workplace, follow these steps:
- Log in to https://microsofthup.com.
- Click on Order History.
- Enter the email address used to purchase Office. You'll receive an email containing a link.
- Click the link in the email.
- Click the order number to display the product key.

Check your Microsoft Office account. If you've previously installed Office and used a product key, you can find the key in your account information:
- Visit https://stores.office.com/myaccount.
- Log in to your account.
- Click on Install from a disc.
- Click on I have a disc.
- Click on View your product key.

Microsoft Office 2010 or 2007

Check your receipt email. If you purchased Office from an online store and downloaded it to your computer, you can find the full 25-character product key in the receipt email.

Check with the online store. If you've downloaded the office software but can't find the receipt, you can still retrieve the product key by logging into your store account.
- If you purchased the software from Digital River, you can obtain the code by visiting their support page and selecting How do I get my serial number or unlock code? Follow the on-screen instructions to retrieve the code.
- If you bought from the Microsoft Store, follow these steps:
- Log in to your account at https://www.microsoftstore.com.
- Click on Order History.
- Select your order.
- Click on Install Office.
- Click on Hi. Let’s get your Office to display the product key.

Check the product packaging. If you purchased a boxed version of Office, the product key is usually located on the packaging. If you can't find it, refer to the instructions on the box to look up the product key online.
- If your Office version comes with a PIN-based product key, visit https://office.com/getkey and enter the 27-digit code from the card.

Check the 3D sticker on your computer. If your computer came with a pre-installed and registered version of Office, the product key might be on a 3D sticker somewhere on the device.

Use LicenseCrawler (PC only). If other methods fail, you can use LicenseCrawler (or any free key lookup tool) to decode the key. Here's how:
- Visit http://www.klinzmann.name/licensecrawler.htm and click on Download.
- Click on one of the links under the ″Portable-Version″ heading.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to download the .zip file.
- Extract the file. A folder containing the application will be created. No installation is required as this is a portable app.
- Open the new folder and double-click on LicenseCrawler.exe.
- Click on Search (close any pop-up ads if they appear). The app will scan your registry.
- Scroll down and look for a line starting with one of the following text strings:
- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Office\14.0 (Office 2010)
- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0 (Office 2007)
- Look for the product key after ″Serial Number″. It will be a 25-character code grouped into 5 sets of alphanumeric characters.
