How to Handle a Frozen Tongue Stuck to Cold Metal

• If someone is with you, let them know that you’re not joking and that your tongue is really stuck to the metal.

Understand why the tongue sticks to metal. Simply put, the tongue gets stuck because saliva freezes when it comes into contact with cold metal. This happens more quickly on metal than other surfaces because metal is an excellent conductor of heat. To release your tongue from the metal, you need to warm it up.
