If you wish to prevent children or others in your household from accessing specific channels on your Roku TV, you might want to hide them. Today, Mytour will guide you on how to hide channels on your Roku TV using a PIN code to stop others from re-adding those channels.
Steps
Create a PIN
Visit https://my.roku.com/account and log in. You can use any web browser to set up the PIN.
Click on Update below the "PIN preference" heading. You can review the current PIN options and then click Update to make changes.
Select "Always require PIN to make purchases and add items from the Channel Store." This is typically the first option under the "Making purchases and adding content" section.
Create a PIN. If a PIN has already been created, the "Create PIN" section might not appear. You will need to enter the PIN twice to confirm your choice.
Click on Save Changes on the left side of the page at the bottom of the screen.
- A notification banner will confirm that the PIN preference has been updated and will take effect during your next visit to the Channel Store.
Remove channels on Roku
Turn on your TV and Roku device. The main goal is to access the Roku TV home screen, so press the Home button on your remote control.
Navigate to the channel you wish to remove. The channel will highlight when selected.
Press the * button on your remote. This will open the channel information page.
Navigate to the Remove channel option and press OK. You will need to confirm this action to proceed.
- You can use the mobile app to perform this action if you're on the go. Open the Roku app, tap on Channels > My Channels, and long-press the channel you want to remove. Finally, tap Remove.
- Repeat this process to delete and hide all the channels you want; this way, all profiles using the Roku account will be limited to the channels you allow.
- You can hide the Movie Store and TV Store channels from the home screen. Navigate to the left side of the TV screen (while Roku is on) and select Home screen. Choose Movie Store and TV Store, then select the Hide option. If the "Hide" box is already checked, these channels will not appear on the home screen.
