Accidentally urinating in public is extremely embarrassing. This issue can happen regularly to some children and even adults. If it happens to you, the only thing you want is for no one to notice. There are three main solutions to handle this situation: find a bathroom, dry the wet spot, and mask the smell of urine.
Steps
Leave the area discreetly without drawing attention

Apologize and stop what you're doing. This can be a bit awkward if you're working in a group of many people.
- Stand up quietly without drawing attention.
- Try to leave quickly while the people around you aren't paying attention. However, be mindful of your surroundings to avoid bumping into anyone.
- Stay calm. If you look anxious, it's highly likely that people will start noticing. If you're with strangers, try walking slowly to avoid attracting attention. If you're with friends, hurry to the bathroom. Don’t slump your shoulders or try to hide the wet spot, as this will draw attention and prompt questions.

Use a jacket or sweater to cover the stain on your pants. This is a simple solution to conceal the urine stain so you can easily head to the restroom. It’s best to tie the jacket around your waist to cover the stain at the back, as this is a common method others tend to use. If you’re wearing a long shirt, pull it down to cover the front area.
- Tie the jacket around your waist.
- Stay calm to avoid seeming suspicious. Act as though nothing unusual happened.
- Walk calmly to the restroom or head home.

Spill your drink on yourself. This trick works if you're at a restaurant or holding a drink. It serves as a perfect shield when you don’t have a jacket to cover the stain.
- This gives you an excuse for why your pants are wet before you apologize and head to the restroom.
- Joke about being clumsy and laugh it off as if spilling the drink was an accident.
- Apologize and head to the restroom to clean up.

Rush to the restroom as quickly as possible. You can decide whether it’s better to clean up the urine stain or just go home.
- Look in the mirror or stand in a corner of the restroom for more privacy.
- If it’s a small stain, you can try to clean it. Otherwise, come up with an excuse to head home.
- Try saying something like "I need to be home before midnight" or "I have homework to finish".
Handling the Stain and Smell

Use water to clean your pants. You should do this to remove any urine stains on your fabric.
- This will also help eliminate the urine smell.
- If possible, discreetly splash water on the stain in the restroom.
- If not, you can use toilet paper to soak up water and rub it on the stain secretly in the restroom.
- Also, try to get rid of any urine smell or stains on your underwear. Do this in the restroom to avoid anyone noticing.

Dry the stain with toilet paper. This will help eliminate the dampness on your pants and/or underwear.
- Use a lot of toilet paper.
- Gently blot the stain to dry it.
- If the tissue isn't enough to absorb the moisture, try using the hand dryer.

Use the hand dryer. Approach the hand dryer and position the stain in front of the air stream.
- Stand with your legs slightly apart. This posture will help speed up the drying process.
- Shake your hips while drying the stain so that all wet areas are covered.
- Stay in front of the hand dryer until your pants are completely dry.
- Touch your pants to make sure there are no wet spots left.

Look in the mirror in the restroom. Check if there are any visible wet spots on your pants.
- If you find any, use more toilet paper to absorb the moisture.
- Then, use the hand dryer.
- Once your pants are dry, you can return to what you were doing, unless you have a good reason to leave.

Try using water and a little hand soap. This will help remove the urine smell from your pants.
- You can try rubbing a little soap on the stain. Take some soap in your hands and rub it on the fabric when you’re in the restroom.
- Use toilet paper to wipe away the stain and dry it using the hand dryer.
- Sniff your pants to check if there's any lingering odor.

Try spraying perfume on your pants. This can help mask the urine smell on your clothing.
- Spray the perfume directly onto the stain.
- Make sure the scent is strong enough to overpower any other odors.
- Before leaving the restroom, double-check to make sure you can’t smell anything unusual.
Advice
- If this is a frequent issue, whether due to health conditions or psychological factors, consider carrying spare pants and underwear with you.
- If you frequently experience accidents, consider wearing specialized clothing designed for this purpose.
- If anyone notices, try to ask them to keep it confidential.
- If you're unable to hide the stain or smell, it's best to go home and change, if possible.
