Today, Mytour will guide you on how to import sample sounds, such as instruments or new effects, into FL Studio. If you don't have sample sounds, you can download them directly from the FL Studio developer's website.
Steps
Import Sample Sounds

Launch FL Studio. The application features an orange carrot icon on a black background.
- If you don't have any sample sounds to import, you can purchase them from the FL Studio developer's website.

Click on the OPTIONS tab at the top left of the FL Studio window.

Click on the General settings option. This option is located at the top of the OPTIONS dropdown menu.

Click on the File tab at the top of the Settings window.

Click on the empty folder icon below the 'Browser extra search folders' heading. These icons are located to the left of the window; clicking on an empty folder will open the browser window, allowing you to select the folder that contains the sample sounds.

Click on the sample sound folder. Depending on the folder's location, you may need to click through several folders in the browser window to reach it.
- For instance, if the sample sound folder is inside the Documents folder (Windows), you may need to click on Desktop, then Documents, and finally the folder that contains the sample sounds.

Click on the OK button at the bottom of the browser window. The folder containing the sample will be imported. You'll see the folder's name appear in the left options column of the FL Studio window, which is where you'll access your imported samples while making music.
Download FL Studio Samples

Visit the FL Studio developer's website at https://www.image-line.com/. This link will take you to the homepage of Image Line.
- If you're not logged into your FL Studio account, click on SIGN IN at the top right of the page and enter your email address and password.
- If you haven't purchased any FL Studio version from Image Line, you won't be able to download free sample sounds.

Click on the CONTENT tab. This option is located near the top of the page.

Click on the Samples option. This option is located to the right of the 'Type' heading near the top of the page.

Find the sound sample you'd like to download. If you prefer not to spend money, click on the FREE SELECTION (Free Collection) button at the bottom-right corner of the frame to explore free sound samples.
- If you're willing to pay, everything on the page is available for download.

Click on the FREE SELECTION below the sound sample you like. You may need to choose a save location first (depending on your browser). The sample will be downloaded to your computer.
- You can also click on ADD TO CART to add the paid version of the sound sample you want to your cart. Afterward, click the cart link next to your name in the top-right corner of the screen, enter any necessary payment details, and then click CHECKOUT.

Wait for the file to finish downloading. Once complete, you will be able to import the file into FL Studio.
Tip
- To make it easier to find later, consider downloading the sound sample directly to your desktop.
Warning
- If you haven't purchased FL Studio from Image Line, clicking on FREE SAMPLES will prompt the system to ask you to log in, even if you're already logged in.
