Typing the π symbol on your keyboard can be as complex as applying π in mathematical formulas. However, creating the π symbol isn't as difficult as you might think, whether you're using a MacBook or a regular computer. Steps
Inserting the Pi Symbol on a MacBook

Hold the ⌥ Option. This key is located on the lower right side of the keyboard, just to the left of the left arrow key.

Press the P. The π symbol will instantly appear.

Release the key combination.
Creating the Pi Symbol on a Computer

Press the Num ⇩. You can find this key on either the right or left side of the keyboard.

Hold down the Alt. This key can be found below the keyboard, either to the right or left of the Spacebar key.

Press the Alt key. You will find it located on either side of the Spacebar.

To type the Alt code for the π symbol, press 227. Remember that on laptops, the Alt codes are usually in a different color (like light blue or yellow), and are written next to the keys 7, 8, 9, U, I, O, J, K, L, and M. Avoid using the normal number system for entering these codes.
- On most keyboards, the Alt code for pi will be KK7 or 9OM, but it's always best to consult the actual Alt code table to be sure.

Release the Alt key. The pi symbol should now appear.

Turn off Num ⇩ by pressing the key again. This will restore the keyboard to its normal settings.
Copy the π symbol from the internet.

Search for the π symbol on the internet. Just type 'pi' in the search bar and you'll find it quickly. Alternatively, you can reuse the pi symbol from this page.

Highlight the π symbol. Place your cursor next to the character, click, and drag your mouse over it to select it.

Copy the π symbol. You can do this by pressing the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + C.

Click where you want to use the symbol. This could be in a Word document, an email, or anywhere else.

Paste the symbol where needed. Simply press Ctrl + V, and the π symbol will appear.
Create the ╥ symbol on your computer - small and lower than the rest.
This method generates a slightly different pi symbol compared to the ones mentioned above. It will be smaller and lower than the surrounding text.

Make sure the number pad is activated. If it’s not, press the 'Num Lock' key on the number pad to turn it on. The number pad is usually located to the right of the main keyboard.

Hold down the 'Alt' key. You can find this key at the bottom, to the right and left of the space bar.

On the number pad, type '210'.

Release the 'Alt' key. The symbol will appear.
- Option: Press 'Num Lock' to turn off the number pad.
Insert the ╥ symbol into your Word document.
This will be the simplest method to create the pi symbol you’ve ever known.

Open a Word file using any word processing software. LibreOffice, OpenOffice, or Microsoft Office will all work.

Change the font to 'Symbol.'

Type the letter 'p'. That's it. It's that simple.
