Mytour will guide you today on how to add a security layer to Google Chrome on both Windows and Mac computers. Once you lock Google Chrome, you'll need to enter your Google password to access your account. Note that this method cannot be used for the mobile version of Google Chrome.
Steps

Click on your profile tab. This small tab is located at the top-right corner of the browser window.

Click on Manage people at the bottom of the dropdown menu. This option will open a new window.

Click on ADD PERSON (ADD PERSON) located at the bottom-right corner of the window.

Enter a name. Type the name of the new account into the text field located near the top of the window.

Enable account supervision. Click the checkbox next to the option "Supervise this person to control and view the websites they visit from your Google Account" towards the bottom of the window.
- You can uncheck the box for "Create a desktop shortcut for this user" if you wish.

Click on the "Select an account" dropdown menu at the bottom of the window. A dropdown list will appear.

Select a Google account. Click the email address associated with the account you use to sign into Chrome.

Click on SAVE (SAVE). This blue button is located at the bottom-right corner of the window. The second profile will be created.
- The profile creation process may take about a minute.

Click on OK, GOT IT (OK, UNDERSTOOD). This gray button is located at the bottom of the window. Since we are not using the supervisory account, do not click SWITCH TO [NAME] here.

Click on the tab with your name again. This tab is located at the top-right of the window. A dropdown menu will appear.

Click on Exit and childlock (Exit and lock for children). This option is located at the bottom of the dropdown menu. The Chrome window will close, and the browser will be locked with a password.
- You can sign back into Chrome by opening the browser, selecting your account, and entering your Google account password.
Advice
- Chrome will retain any open tabs. When you unlock Chrome, these tabs will reappear.
- Choose a strong password. Short passwords or those with just one word can be easily cracked.
- Email accounts operating through Gmail with other extensions (e.g., ".edu") or different domains (such as "Mytour") will not support browser lock.
Warning
- If you forget the password while the child lock is enabled, you will need to reset it before continuing.
