Logging into your Netgear router allows you to modify the default username and password, adjust network settings, improve security strength, and enable features like parental controls. All Netgear routers share the same default login details.

Accessing your Netgear router

Look for a sticker on your Netgear router containing the default login information. Most Netgear routers come with a label that provides the access address as well as the default username and password.

Open your web browser and visit http://routerlogin.net

- You can also try accessing http://www.routerlogin.com, http://192.168.0.1, or http://192.168.1.1 if the .net domain URL doesn’t lead to the login page.
- If you prefer not to connect via Wi-Fi, use an Ethernet cable to connect the router directly to your computer.

Enter “admin” in the username field and “password” in the password field. These are the default login credentials for your Netgear router.
- If the default login details don't work, the username or password may have been changed. Follow Step 2 of this guide to restore the router’s factory settings as outlined in Step 1 above.

Click “OK” after entering your login credentials. You will now be logged into your router and can freely change its settings as needed.
Troubleshooting Netgear Login Issues

Reset your Netgear router if the login credentials don't work. This will return the router to its default factory settings, including resetting the username and password.
- Power off the router and locate the “Restore Factory Settings” button on the side or rear of the device.
- Use a pen or paperclip to press and hold the “Restore Factory Settings” button for at least 7 seconds until the “Power” light starts blinking.
- Release the button and wait for the router to restart. The Power light will stop blinking and should show a steady green or white light.
- Repeat Steps 2 to 4 from Part 1 to log back into your Netgear router.

Try using a different Ethernet cable or port on the router if you're unable to access the router's settings. In some instances, a damaged cable or port may prevent you from logging into the router.

If you're still unable to reach the Netgear router's admin page, try refreshing your computer's ID address. In some cases, updating the ID address can help establish a connection between your computer and the router. If you're unable to log into your Netgear router, try disabling any firewalls or pop-up blockers on your computer. Since Netgear routers rely on JavaScript in their web interface, firewalls and ad blockers may prevent you from accessing the admin page.
