Have you ever accidentally left your Facebook account logged in on a shared device, such as a computer, tablet, or phone? Fortunately, you can still log out remotely. This article will guide you through the process of logging out of your Messenger account on another device.
Steps
Log Out Remotely Using a Phone or Tablet

Log into Facebook on your phone or tablet. If you forgot to log out of Facebook on another device (such as a computer at school, the office, or a friend's phone), you can log out remotely this way. You can usually find the Facebook app (with the lowercase "f" icon on a blue background) on the home screen (iPhone/iPad) or in the app drawer (Android).
- You must log in to Facebook with the account you want to log out of remotely.
- You can also use this method to log out of Facebook Messenger.

Tap on ☰. You'll see a menu with the three-line icon at the bottom right (iPhone/iPad) or top right (Android).
- Some newer Android devices will display "Device Requests" here. Tap on it, then select the phone, tablet, or computer with the account you want to log out of. After this step, you can skip the remaining steps.

Tap on Settings & Privacy. This option is next to the gear icon, and the menu will expand when you tap it.

Tap on Settings. This is the first option in the menu and has a profile icon next to it.

Tap on Security & Login. You'll find this option under the "Security" heading, right next to a shield icon.

Review the list of active sessions. The list of devices where you're logged in (or recently logged in) appears under the "Where You're Logged In" section. You'll see the device name (as reported to Facebook), estimated location, and the last access date. Use this information to identify the session you want to end.
- Tap See More to expand the list.
- If you're logged into the Messenger app, the word "Messenger" will appear below the session name.

Tap on ⋮ next to the device you want to log out of. A menu will immediately appear on the screen.

Tap on Log Out. This will log you out of Facebook on the selected device. Anyone viewing your Facebook page from that browser or app will be immediately signed out.
