Ingredients
Traditional strawberry smoothie
- 10 strawberries
- 1/2 cup or 125ml of milk
- 5 ice cubes
-
Optional:
- 1 tablespoon (15g) of sugar
- 3 scoops of ice cream
Strawberry Smoothie without Milk
- 10 fresh strawberries
- 1/4 cup of filtered water (or any flavored fruit juice of your choice)
- 5 ice cubes
- 1 tablespoon (15g) of honey, agave syrup, or regular sugar
Steps
Traditional Strawberry Smoothie

Cut the strawberries into small pieces. While the recipe calls for 10 strawberries, feel free to adjust the quantity depending on the size of the berries and how much smoothie you want to make.
- For easier blending, it is recommended to remove the stems from the strawberries and cut them in half.
- Be sure to use a clean knife and cutting board!
Place the strawberries into the blender. Both the Magic Bullet and versatile blenders are suitable for this recipe.
Pour the milk into the blender. 2% milk will create a thick and creamy smoothie, but non-fat milk, soy milk, or almond milk also provide a delicious flavor. If you don't have milk, yogurt can be used as an alternative.
Add ice. For a thicker and colder smoothie, add ice to the blender along with the other ingredients. However, if you prefer a thicker texture (at least initially), you can add ice after the smoothie is blended. It's all up to your taste preference.
Blend until the mixture turns into a liquid consistency. Depending on the blender's power and the size of the ice cubes, blending will take anywhere from 15 seconds to a minute. Have a spoon ready to stir any ingredients that may be stuck at the bottom of the blender. You can also use this time to taste the smoothie.
Add sugar and blend for a few more seconds. If the strawberries are already sweet, you may not need to add any sweeteners. Alternatively, honey is a perfect choice for a natural flavor. It's best to taste and adjust accordingly. If the smoothie is too sweet, feel free to add more strawberries or milk to balance it out!
Pour the smoothie into a glass. Slice a strawberry in half and make a cut to attach it to the rim of the glass for a decorative touch. Add a straw and a small cocktail umbrella to complete the look, and your smoothie is ready to enjoy.
- Using a chilled glass will help the smoothie stay thick for longer without getting watered down too quickly. Place a glass in the freezer so it’s ready when you suddenly crave a smoothie.

Enjoy! This recipe creates a single glass of strawberry smoothie. Keep in mind that the delicious flavor of the smoothie will make children want more. Make sure you have plenty of ingredients on hand so you can easily make more when they ask for it!
Strawberry Smoothie Without Milk

Slice about 10 strawberries in half. Ten strawberries is the ideal amount for one serving, but feel free to use more if you'd like. You can always double the ingredients for a larger batch! Grab your cutting board and knife, and get started.
Place the strawberries and water or fruit juice into the blender. Water will thin out the smoothie and enhance the strawberry flavor, but fruit juice will give your smoothie a unique twist. You can try apple, pineapple, mango, or even grape or cranberry juice. While the strawberry flavor might be less pronounced, your smoothie will be more flavorful and distinctive.
Add honey or a spoonful of sugar. Honey is a natural form of sugar, though regular sugar works too. Both of these ingredients are optional! If your strawberries are already sweet, you might not need to add honey or sugar.
- You can always blend the ingredients first and then decide whether to add sugar. Just test with a spoonful!
Add ice cubes. Whether they are large or small, ice cubes can be blended well, but smaller cubes will make it easier for the blender. If you don't want to add too much ice at once, you can blend half the ice and then drop 1 or 2 ice cubes into the finished smoothie to keep it cold.
- Another effective method is to freeze the glass – this way, the glass acts like ice, cooling your smoothie without making it watery.
Start the blender on a low speed and gradually increase. The ice cubes will hit each other on low speed, but will blend smoothly at higher speeds. The smoothie is ready when all ingredients form a smooth, red mixture. Taste with a spoon to check how it tastes.
- Continue blending on high for another 30 seconds to create foam. This will increase the volume of the smoothie (you might want to check out ways to boost the smoothie volume).

Enjoy! Garnish the drink with a slice of fruit – it could be lemon, pineapple, or strawberry. Add a straw and a decorative umbrella. Now you have a delicious fruit smoothie! I hope you feel refreshed while making and drinking this smoothie!
Tip
- Don't add all the ingredients to the blender at once. Add the ice cubes last to avoid clogging the blender's blades.
- You can add any fruit you like, such as mango, banana, orange, etc.
- Don't blend the ingredients for too long if you want your smoothie to have some fruit chunks rather than a smooth texture.
- Vanilla ice cream is a great addition to strawberry smoothies, as its sweetness and creaminess create a perfect combination.
