Soft and stretchy slime is usually pliable and, true to its name, is smooth and elastic, making it fun to squish and poke. However, many slime recipes for this texture rely on borax, a hard-to-find ingredient. Don't worry though—there's a way to make this slime without it, using simple household materials.
Ingredients
- 110g glue
- 110g warm water
- Shaving cream
- Food coloring (optional)
- Skin moisturizer (optional)
- Laundry detergent
Steps

Pour glue into a bowl.
Mix warm water into the glue. Be careful not to add too much water, as this can make the mixture too runny.
Add food coloring and stir well. If you're using concentrated food coloring, only add two drops to avoid the color sticking to your hands.
Add shaving cream and mix thoroughly. Once well combined, the mixture should have a texture similar to marshmallow cream.
Add a small amount of moisturizer to make the slime stretchier.
Add a little laundry detergent. Don't pour it all in at once—adding too much can make the slime stiff.
Knead the slime. When the slime becomes too thick to stir, use your hands to knead it until it's less sticky.
Finally, play with the slime! Store it in an airtight container to keep it fresh.
Warning
- Soft and stretchy slime can stick if you don't add enough laundry detergent. Avoid letting it touch clothes and carpets.
